Archetype

I don't understand why we have to have an "archetype." I guess what I'm trying to say is why can't we have a archetype of a 5 tool player?
I don't think most people want to be a second baseball who hits a lot singles or just a power hitting corner outfielder who can't field well. I grew up watching Griffey Jr. I think most people want to be Trout or Betts (people who can field, hit for average, power, and steal bases).
Just let us level everything up.

I know what you mean. I havent spent much time in RTTS, but I have been using my player in DD and I just got the silver Sparkplug archtype - and when I applied it, I went from a 2B to a left fielder. I don't think I fully understand the my ballplayer/RTTS thing yet. I'll just keep upgrading the archtypes and see what happens at the diamond level.
I'm also confused on why my RTTS guy has 73 CON in RTTS mode but when I take him to DD he's in the 90s with CON. I don't change equipment/archetypes in between modes.

Your equipment boosts are most likely only applying in DD and not in RTTS.

I hated when they went to archetypes in 18 and we could no longer level up our players via training points as we wanted. I remember them saying they spoke with MLB players how progression should be, they should be asking their fans how they want to play and I don’t remember anyone asking for archetypes and limiting how we could level up our player.
