With all the errors and server crashes I can almost guarantee that they will be free again. They have a pretty upset customer base at the moment

They weren't even really "free" last year. You still have to do the collection. Depends whether or not the Topps now packs are in the program or not -

His Topps Now last year was good so I really want a Corbin Burnes card.

With Vlad hitting 3 bombs last night they could give him a good 91-92 Topps Now card saving room in POTM for guys like Burns and Olsen

People forget that MLB decides who wins this, not the Show. It's gonna be Trout and Acuna or Winker. Possibly even Degrom or Burnes. We are almost guaranteed to get the NL winner as the lightning card.

My guess is Guerrero/Burnes/Buxton as henchmen and J.D Martinez or Rhys Hoskins as the lightning player.

They decide the real life ones, but SDS decides on the cards. If Acuna or Trout win POTM in real life I can personally promise you that Barry Bonds will be in the show before they give those two a POTM card that would be lower overall than Trout already is and the same overall the Acuna likely will be after the update. It matches up sometimes, but not all the time.

Vlad is 3rd in the MLB in WAR, only .2 behind Trout and Acuna, both being high diamonds already...
He's also been good defensively this year btw.

POTM in the show is selected by the dev team. They base it off of how a players live series card is rated and should preform vs how the real player preformed in a given month.
So guys like Vlad Jr, Burns, JD, Olsen are playing at a diamond level in real life but only have silver or golds.
Trout and Acuna based on their performance so far are pretty much living up to expectations card vs real life.

I’m more referring to years past where the pack was limited and every POTM costed nearly a million stubs. I hope that’s gone for good, I thought last year it was just because of Covid, and the league not being active, but maybe they’ve just made this the new norm.

I hope so as well. The completion percentage of 17, 18 and 19s POTM programs had to be extremely low. Those and the equipment collections were just the absolute worst
