Hey SDS how about the option of 12 pitchers and 6 on the bench....or a DH
-
...Instead of having 8 relievers and only 5 position players in reserve.
I see many more instances of using pinch hitters, defensive replacements and pinch runners
before I ever need 8 relievers in a game especially when they have to pitch to 3 batters most of the time. And with no game to game fatigue factor in offline games it's even more ridiculous having 8 relievers.
No need for a complete change but an option for us to go with either setup would be nice.
And/or, a universal DH would would be nice

We don't need a universal DH. Having the pitcher spot in the lineup in this game adds a layer of strategy and decision making in a 9 inning game. This topic comes up every year and they will only implement it into the game once MLB adopts a universal DH.
Regarding the 8 relievers, in the higher tiers starters get pulled early often because they tend to get smacked around once you run into a good player. If you pull your SP in the 2nd or 3rd inning, you're happy you'll have 8 relievers. Not just for that game, but also for the next game and the game after that because of stamina management.
Last but not least, having 5 bench bats forces you to make decisions in your batting line up when it comes to lefties/righties and also defensive capabilities. Otherwise you could load up your team with lefties and then pinch hit each and everyone with a righty when you face a lefty on the mound. Or replace the entire outfield with elite fielders once you score a few runs. 5 bench bats is plenty and purposefully eliminates the option to be in that position.
Long story short, make decisions and learn to use your opportunities. You can't have an advantage in every match up.

I like it that there is no DH, I was suggesting possibly it instead of changing the other numbers.
I am very good at making decisions and use my opportunities thank you very much! LOL.But having 8 relievers is a complete waste of space.
It wouldn't be if there was fatigue in offline games. But since there isn't you very rarely need more then maybe 3 or 4.Having 5 starters is also useless in offline games since you can pitch the same one over and over and over again. Or have just one LH and one RH and pitch whichever is the best matchup every game.

Glad you know how to make use of the decision making given to you, it truly works in your favor if you're smart about it which apparantly you are.
Maybe I should've mentioned that everything I said was in regard to online play, not offline. They can't split those conditions for online/offline and so the online factor dictates these conditions since that's what most people play.

Yes, we were both pretty much talking about two different games: online and offline.
I guess the bottom line is it would nice if they incorporated pitching fatigue into the offline modes. Surely that would be possible.
I do enjoy the full games vs CPU and extra innings and no one dashboards!
But like I said only needing 1 or 2 starters and maybe 3-4 RP on your squad takes away from the realism but also some of the fun of it.
It's also why I mainly play franchise and RTTS but I do enjoy playing the auction house (which I'm very, very good at) and putting together a super team.
Anyway, it is what it is -
