Converting Stubs purchased on one console into Universal Stubs
-
I noticed before the game came out that the FAQ's mentioned that any stubs you purchased on one console could only be used on that console, however stubs earned in the game could be used universally.
After getting the game, I purchased 150K stubs on the Xbox store, and confirmed that these stubs were only showing up on my Xbox version of the game (my player profile showed 150,277 stubs in total: 150,000 on this platform and 277 were universal stubs).
I used these stubs to purchase and sell (flip) some cards on the marketplace from within my xbox game, and then noticed once I had done that, all my stubs became universal at that point, and are showing up on both my PS5 and Xbox Series X games. My universal profile now showed 162,143 stubs (after profiting a bit from the card flips), with 0 stubs restricted to the current platform.
Did I just discover some workaround for these stub restrictions with some sort of glitch, or is this normal? If this is a glitch, this is basically a great way to purchase stubs from one platform and get them to be used on the other. Xbox stubs are cheaper because of the game pass discount, so I purchased them there, but I mostly play the game on my PS5.

Expect this to be patched soon. And, frankly, it should if stubs are cheaper on Xbox.

They are the same price

With Xbox Game Pass, all DLC, including stubs are 10% cheaper. -

Yeah, I was going to buy some before the game was released on Game Pass, and they were normal/regular price then. Once the game released, the stubs went down by 10% (as is all game pass content).

With Xbox Game Pass players getting stubs for 10% cheaper, and having the ability to play cross-platform and convert the stubs into universal stubs as I mentioned, that gives Xbox players an advantage in the community marketplace...a 10% advantage.
-
Are there separate markets for Xbox and PS players? If not, then it really doesn’t matter if you can make the universal, Xbox players are getting a slight advantage either way.

Yeah it's an interesting dynamic
I don't know what the answer is as you would have to program to recognize what stubs where used to purchase what and lock that it to a system. One would have to assume that can't just be a simple patch

No, it's the same market. If I put up a card for sale on my Xbox, when I go and play the game from my PS5, the card I have for sale shows up there too, as do all my stubs once flipped through card transactions.

So then it doesn’t really matter, Xbox gets a slight discount on cost of purchased stubs. It’s not a game changing difference, but it’s still an advantage.

I play the game mainly on my PS5, but the cost of the stubs being cheaper is what make me buy them on Xbox. I was originally just going to do my community market transactions on my Xbox, but play the game on PS5, but after discovering once you flip these stubs into cards and sell the cards back into stubs, all the stubs are now available to me on the PS5 anyway. So basically going forward, I've found out a way to get stubs cheaper on Xbox, that I can end up using on the PS5.
I guess it comes down to the fact that SDS considers any stubs converted by fliping cards to be stubs that were earned through gameplay...thus they end up becoming universal in the end.
