My first steal attempt since release

Started playing Friday and mostly just CPU. Was up 9-0 and decided to steal with Aaron to accumulate some parallel points. I tap L2 and BAM pitcher throws to first. Lol 100% truth that is the first time the CPU has ever tried to pickoff since I have been playing 21. Some things never change.
On a positive note other than ESPN highlights by bronze defenders in showdown and the CPU fouling off a bit too much. I am liking the game waaaay over 20. Let’s hope patches don’t screw this up.

Lol I feel you on the amazing defense from commons and bronzes. 2017 the Padres were the team to beat up on to grind stats. They had an outfielder Carlos Asuaje. Every time I get robbed now I say , ‘I’ve just been Asuaje’d’

That’s why I pretty much don’t steal. I obviously don’t understand the secret. They always know when pitch out or throw over. I usually wait for the first pitch out and then let them do it again. Then I’ll get a secondary lead and I’m still out by a mile and this is with 90+ speed guys. I guess I’m not doing something right.

When playing the CPU, steal after either 2 strikes or 2 balls have been thrown. They wont pitch out in those counts. 0-0, 1-0, 0-1, or 1-1 are.the only counts they pitch out on.

Yeah but even when I do that I’m still out by a mile. What am I doing wrong?

There are exploits you can find online. Otherwise, I usually manually jump the runner using L1 or whatever.
