So I'm curious. Why in the world would they handcuff catchers equipment the way they do. Masks are diamond, chest is gold and shin guards are silver. Where every other equipment has all 3.

I guess because catchers have three extra pieces of defensive equipment that no other position has.

Well clearly, but why did they deviate away from 3 or masks and each one has better attributes than the last and it went S, G, D. Now it's all diamond and i never seen one come up at all last year.
