Other than horrid online play; I would have to say that my biggest 'pet peeve' with DD is that until you get your team to where you want; you CANT play for fun.

I'm trying to get 99 Jackie and I'm leaving potential runs on the board buy trying to stretch singles into doubles, or doubles into triples, with Gold Rookie Jackie; because right now all I need is doubles and triples to advance a mission(s) to get the next version.

Cant the doubles and triples be done offline?

Yes. They're actually required to be done in Conquest. I tried the RIB map.

I may try another map that has a Tigers stronghold. I remember reading somewhere that if you play at that stadium to outfield gaps help.

Find a map with Boston and Rockies. For the doubles, play against Boston and try to bounce otlffnthe green monster. For the triples, play at Coors.

What's the solution though? No grind and all cards available right away? That would be a pretty boring imo, (and very unprofitable for a game company)

Solution would be to eliminate doubles and triples as a requirement band just have XBHs listed.

At least it's not the Daniel Nava mission.

They did that for the most part, with the Jackie thing being a very rare exception to that.

That’s a good first paragraph that sums up the DD modes and how they have stifled what made MLB The Show stand out in the past.

For those that play DD modes, so much time wasted on grinding repetitive busy work that do nothing to improve one’s skill (eg playing on rookie in conquest or moments just to complete a task).

For those that don’t play DD modes, all that dev time spent on DD stuff means only crumbs left for improving the season-based modes (except MTO, but that doesn’t count because it has DD gameplay built in).

If anybody gets defensive about DD here you’ll have to forgive me because I have just spent the last couple of days acquiring the last few trophies and have been forced to endure offline DD gameplay. Turns out non-DD modes reward very little stubs and XP (now only two levels short of Silver 1 due to doing a whole bunch of TA collecting and finishing a couple of conquest maps).
