Ranked Season Quitters - frustrating

I quit often. I have fiber, I'm hardwired into the ps5, I try to only play home games.
Still, it's beyond obvious when the lag is too much to deal with. This includes timing windows, PCI placement, and pitch timing (Meter, analog, pulse, doesn't matter).
This late in the year, who cares. I want to have a fun game, not sweat through 9 innings of BS to win by 1 run on an error that should have never happened.

Had a quitter when my opponent’s batter popped up... we played 8 2/3 innings... no save for me....

Only thing I can say is playing someone who's skill level is 10x yours is no fun at all. Maybe that is why. Played the event yet? LOL
Agreed. Sometimes I think how is this fun for people? I like a game I have a chance of losing. These guys are in the 400s playing and every batter is hitting 400 with 40 hr. Its so F lame. And I know its a game, blah blah blah, but when you are up 10-2 and you bring in Aroldis and your still trying to dot corners and dipsy doo out the strikezone, I hope your dog runs away
There is always a chance of losing. A 10-2 lead can evaporate in an instant. RNG error, bloop single, homerun which destroys the pitcher's confidence, and then good luck stopping the rally.
Do you want your opponent to put in a common pitcher tossing the ball in underhand when you go down by more than 6 runs? If we were to match up, you bet your [censored] I'm going with a reliever like Chapman and I'm trying to get you out. Who even has a subpar reliever in the pen at this point?
Something to be said about sportsmanship as well. Whats the fun in destroying people? Why not try and pitch in the zone at least?

Losing sucks and I can get salty sometimes but I'll always let an opponents homer land. Dashboarding just to prevent them getting stats is a douchebag move.

Sportsmanship? We're not talking about bunt dancing, watching every home run, or circling weak fly outs like a vulture. There is a difference between showing up an opponent by acting like a tool and beating them.
If someone is getting destroyed, they can leave at any time. Its not like they're being held hostage. It is not my responsibility to give little Timmy a few meatballs down the middle at the expense of my ERA so he can feel good about himself and have a shot at winning. The rng does enough of that already.

Yessir. He put up 6 or so in an inning on me and I came back and put up 6 or 7

Hey someone posted on Facebook how you asked for 3 runs and you would quit in the event and then you didn’t...

It’s a free win in ranked what does it matter if someone quits?

Why do people quit in Ranked Season Games? Don't get me wrong, I have had to do it a time or two when I started a game when I shouldn't have and had to quit, but I haven't quit a game just because I was getting beaten.
Twice now, I have been trying to complete the Andre Dawson RBI mission in Innings and, while needing one, hit a Home Run and the opponent quit while the ball was in the air.. Of course, it is before it registers the RBi
I played a game yesterday had 5 home runs in the first inning. 2 in first 2 at bats. I prestiged Tagus that game so I was content. I knew I was gonna win from the start was like 9-0 and I was striking every batter out. by the second Inning so instead of hammering him more I pitched easier To let him hit more and pulled my fielders away so he could get confidence and stats too. I don’t really like killing my opponent, I start to feel bad and remember when I was a noob.

If you are playing to prestige players and specifically pitcher. It's hard to strike out folks on AS. If I get someone who swings in the dirt often then why not? They are going to eventually get a few hangers in the zone anyway.

I do the same thing. I even help guys get the program challenges like Joe Morgan rbis or Miggy home runs. But if the guy is a bunt dancer or replayer I do the opposite...I intentionally walk those guys.

Sometimes I quit if I don't have time to finish the game. It's not that I don't want to continue, but that I have to leave. lol

I’ll do it if I know I am going to lose, which is a lot. This is probably frowned upon, I’ll tank ranked season games so I can be low ranking and play worse players to get prestige stats.
Not many get worse than you dude. So even if you think you’re tanking you’re probably not. When you post in these forums you might want to have a bit more humility as we can always look up your stats. Have a good day bud

I love when people quit. Makes me happy to not waste my time finishing a whole game. I actually strive to get that quit. Makes me feel accomplished and takes less time to get a W. Time Is money
-
I don't like to quit, but if I'm taking an early beating on the back of a 14 inning game, I'll dump out to recover pen.
I also have a puppy who seems to know the difference between when I'm playing a conquest game and when I'm playing another human, and that causes a few quits. Still a very good boy.

That’s how people complete their comebacks.

Agree 100%. Sometimes you need to throw a fastball at their head just to assert your dominance. Show em' who's boss.
