I've decided that I'm only going to target a few of the TAs.
Mainly teams that have Finest players that I want.
I've been dilly-dallying around and have only completed the TN Moments for Tatis, J-Ram, and Mondesi plus the PS Program.
I haven't touched ANYTHING else.
Would it be better for me just to grind the [censored] out of ALL the Conquests (Minus the TA and Major Map ones) and Showdowns to get TA progress?
Or should I just put in a ton of Buy Orders and exchange my way to these players?
If I exchange 72s, it would cost me about 15-17K to go from pts to 220. Then I'd just gave to do the Conquest Map for that team.
I'd make that, plus more, back just from the stubs and packs I'd get on the way.
Thoughts?

I had a good amount of stubs and there’s a plethora of cards you can buy for around 5k that will complete exchanges

Buy orders & exchanges are way faster but instead of 72s use 75-79s

@exotic_combs 5K per each exchange or 1,275 per each exchange.
@cosmic_wonders. If I can get 4 78s for around 200 each, 6 77s for around 150-175 each, and 7 76s for around 100-125 each; it will cost me about 2000-2500 per exchange.
Still a little more than 72s. But I know the cheaper the exchange, the longer it will take.
I would say that a majority of the fan base that thinks of doing an exchange goes with Silvers. Thus making them more expensive.
I can pay up to 2x QS value for a Silver or pay QS value for a 72 OVR card.
I'm not worried about getting them done fast, as I only play offline (unless needed) so I'm in no hurry to complete them.

At this point in the year not many people playing the market so you’d be surprised most silvers are 100 stubs buy order

If you target some of the teams that have higher price tags on the FotF players, Orel for example and sell them, you can actually come out ahead with all the packs and loot. If you hit a high stub live series diamond then you are definitely in the plus column.

Up until about 2 weeks I struggled with completing the TAs for most teams. I was ready to give up because I had only completed four past TA1 and thought it would be impossible to get the TA4 cards I really wanted. Well, I am glad I didn’t give up because, as of yesterday, I have completed at least 98% of EVERY teams TA. Here is what I did to do it:
- Started buying Headliners packs, at least 15 packs at a time.
- Started focusing on only one team from each division at a time.
- Sold every headliner I pulled from those packs to put back into packs.
- Sold all LS diamonds over 90 and below 87 (I kept every 87-89 diamond for the exchanges) and all 83 and 84 cards I pulled from those packs to put back into packs.
- Kept all 82 and under cards to use strictly for the exchanges for the teams in each division I was focusing on, along with every 87-90 for any team.
- Put all TA rewards, including diamonds pulled from the pack rewards (following the rules listed above), back into buying more headliners pack bundles. I sold most face of franchise cards (still have Killebrew, Thome, Schmidt and a few others) after I tried them out for a bit, as well as some of the Finest cards I did not like (I still have ALL of the most expensive Finest cards, probably still have 12-15 of them total)
- Exchange the remaining cards focusing on one team from each division, while exchanging every 87-89 card regardless of team.
- Repeat.
I did get really lucky and pull a deGrom and Trout, as well as several higher valued headliners like Dibble, Bryant, etc., but I didn’t pull most of those until I was basically completed most teams through TA3. So I was rolling and making a ton of progress without the big pulls. Oh, and I initially started with under 1K stubs until I sold only my duplicate LS using the rules above. Just thought I would share for those that were struggling like I was.

I understand where you're coming from. But here is what I just did.
Targeting the Nationals Exchange
1 78 (Alberto from Balt) at/under 130 stubs. The others were 150 or higher.
13 77s/76s at/under 111.
In order to get enough to do one exchange I'm looking at 1444 for the 76-77s and 520 for the 78s. (That's IF I don't get outbid.) For a total of 1,964 stubs
Now go with 72s and there were 7-8 at 0-25 stubs. While I would need 50 of them; it would still only cost me 1,250 stubs.
That's a savings of around 700 stubs. Not alot; but if those Silver rise in cost, I actually think I can get 50 Bronze filled faster than 17 Silvers.
Will it take longer to fill 50 Bronze orders than it would take to fill 17 Silvers? Probably. But as soon as someone outbids me in one of those Silvers; I'm looking at more cost.
If I remember correctly, the last I looked, 78s were averaging about 150-175 each. That's roughly 3700-3900 each in Exchange Points.
4 72s at 25 stubs each, at 997 pts per card, is 100 stubs for almost 4K in Exchange.
Again, I KNOW that doing Silvers could be faster; but that's a chance I don't want to take because all you need is for someone to outbid you by 25-50 stubs and your battling back and forth.
Nobody is going to outbid a 72 Bronze for more than 5 stubs.

Yes the lower yiu ho the cheaper it is but also very time consuming. I did it with 79s. Think yiu need 13 of them. Buy the hell out of em. Complete 1 team at a time. Do not sell any cards yiu get from packs except diamonds worth more than 5k. Once you Complete 1 team, start doing the opposite team in the other lg, so Mets Yankees for example. All the team affinity packs you get for completing the Yankees can then be used to complete the Mets. Rinse, cycle, repeat. You can also sell the fotf players or ta4 players your not crazy about right now to keep the process going and buy back later if you need stubs but more than likely you'll hit a big diamond that will put you in the plus column. If you really want to speed up the process focus on buying 89+ diamonds that are around 5k. Only takes 1 for 10 points.

Finest Ronald Acuna, finest Gerrit Cole, and Finest Dinelson Lamet can all be bought for 5/6k each. They’re all worth the max when it comes to exchanging. You can look at the Yankees Braves and Padres rivals and those are the teams you can compete TA’s for relatively cheap. Assuming you have stage 1 done in the Mets, you can buy however many Acuna’s it takes to get to Finest Degrom and it’ll still be cheaper than buying Degrom outright. Not only that, you get stubs xp and packs along the way. I did this for Mookie, Salvador Perez, Machado, and DeGrom. Spent probably 400k or so with exchanges. Literally half the price
-
Just grind them. Gives you something to do. You can make a ton of stubs in the process, even though we really dont have anything to do with them. It can also help with XP. Ive been doing them just to fill out all the sets. I already did all the FOTF and I have 10 left to do for the finest set.
-
Grind them. If you are in no rush that at most I would say buy 74s. Thats what I did.
-
Can always take a 50/50 approach. grind and buy. I bought most but did complete all the missions and moments, except for conquest.
