Anybody else been getting an unusual amount of good timing swings in the pci that result in a pop up to the catcher? Does anyone know why that is? It’s pretty frustrating
-
PCI placement generally doesn’t matter. I’ve had balls destroyed when it’s not anywhere near the pci and I’ve had balls be flyouts on great placed and timed swings.

The game is a mess, been that way for months. Perfect perfect fly outs, early swings are bombs.

I was thinking I was going crazy. I started noticing this a few days ago. Especially in momens.

Somebody on here told me that anyone over 80 rating for power got a P/P fly ball it was gone. I told him he was eating paint chips. Im so correct now. Low and away inside balls get creamed. Miss an actual strike by a few inches, pop up or weak fly ball. For ridiculous HR on bad pitches, see Grandal Postseason card

Definitely nowhere near true...had a p/p fly ball with SS Edmonds in the event go to left field and died at the track. Came off the bat over 100mph and died at the track
Meanwhile, early swings on outside pitches produce way better outcomes
It’s a joke that this game rewards being early on outside pitches instead of, you know, actually going with the pitch

There is a big difference between left field and right field at PNC. A pop fly can leave PNC to right field whereas a bomb can be caught in the left field power ally where it’s 410. Left handed hitter would need serious power to take it oppo taco. So it’s not surprising to see Edmonds P/P a ball that’s caught in left field. If you were smart you loaded you’re lineup with lefty power hitters and just exploit the short Black monster at PNC (that would be the 50 foot right field porch for those of you who didn’t know).

My bad, wasn’t sure how high it was but the point still holds.

Totally understand but it wasn’t in the opposite field gap, it was more to straight away left and still died at the wall.
Not a big deal, just an event game but I was thrown off by it. Usually it’s no doubters with Edmonds when you square up against righties

This is how they “buff pitching” after the juiced cards are all released and complaints about the game being home run or bust are prevalent. More good line outs = lower scores. It was particularly bad in ‘18 to offset the slow motion pitch speeds making it easy to square up pitches, it was prevalent towards the end of last year when the juiced cards were all released and surprisingly, it’s made another reappearance in the latter stages of ‘20. This game is like watching one of your favourite classic movies. You know the characters, you know how it turns out, but you watch anyway, because you have a nostalgic soft spot deep inside for the way you used to perceive the game, sorry movie, when you hadn’t noticed all the flaws and imperfections.
