PSA - Wall Near Peskey's Pole (Fenway)
-
One thing that I have noticed over the years is that the cursor for where the ball is going to land or the spot from which a home run robbery can be attempted has an issue with short walls in corners.
I'd forgotten about this during a recent game and it actually cost me the game although who's to say if I'd have won eventually after making the catch. So, no complaints from me... it was a thrilling and very enjoyable game. Opponent came back from being one run down in the bottom of the 9th and bottom of the 12th - cranking a solo shot with the same guy, no less - can't say that he didn't deserve to win.
Having said that, in the bottom of the 13th, bases loaded, two outs... high fly ball toward the right field corner. My outfielder got to the target cursor in plenty of time, set in place and ready to jump. The jump cursor appeared in play at the base of the wall about a foot past Peskey's Pole. The ball flew into the stands about three feet further back, an extremely easy catch if the cursor had been accurate or if I'd just had the cursor off and ran to the right spot. Ah well.
