Showdown and CPU Stealing

I am a baseball minded person when I play this game and like to get my runners in motion on 3-2 or 2-2 counts so I keep myself out of double plays but my runners just stop half way through the steal. This has costed me many times so MLB 21 must be different

They stop because the baserunning AI is garbage.

It's always in showdowns where my runner overruns 2nd base for no reason other than to be thrown out.
