I cannot hit with Sheffield and Mantle

Honestly no tips man. people will say you need to learn their swing and keep at it but I have a hard enough time swinging in general so i benched Mantle months ago. No reason to keep at if its not working out. Plenty of cards to use

I’d keep trying, but something feels different with Mickey or hitting in general.
I hit a foul ball perfect/perfect and a perfect/perfect to the track in two games with him last night.
Wtf!!!
Dude, I played 2 RS games myself last night and every single ball hit by Trout, Mantle (1 actually did go out), Ortiz, Tatis, Musial, all died at the track and I was like WTF! and quit the second game. What gives?

Feedback has been hopelessly broken for a while. They tried to justify the stupid early swing mechanic that generates excessive home runs by not only expanding the feedback timing window for good contact to the point that a lot of early pulled or late opposite swings now return good timing on the swing feedback, but crucially - They also moved perfect to the early side of good, to encourage players to swing earlier. Sadly the result is some pretty strange and illogical swing feedback at times, like the perfect/perfect foul balls. It’s terribly broken, just like it has been in most previous versions of DD. If you hit a ball right back up the middle of the diamond, across the mound and second base bag, the game is going to tell you you were late more often than not.
I don’t know if they tried to put more emphasis on hitters tendencies, as I was just discussing in another topic and the vast amount of pull hitters just makes it feel as though the game wants everyone to swing early out in front, but with pitch speeds and differentials being in a pretty good place this year in my opinion, it’s had the unfortunate effect of creating a meta where everyone is swinging crazily early and not really seeing the pitch location well in order to succeed. It’s not very pleasant on the hitting or pitching side of gameplay.
Is that what is going on this new season????

I was watching Koogs the other night on YouTube and noticed it and he actually rage quit for the first time all season, but adjusted the next day in his debut of Randy A. If he had a problem, I'll never see another home run for the rest of the year.

Nah probably just wishful thinking.

I hit a HR last night with Arozarena and I was early and my PCI wasn’t even centered. It should’ve been a weak fly ball if not a grounder.
We were not even playing at Shippet. It was a low altitude stadium. Like WTF, hitting is random. -
Good to see I’m not the only one. .223 with Sheffield in about 150 AB’s. .260 with Biggio in 200+ AB’s and Mantle is around .270 with 400 AB’s. Been keeping Mantle around in CF bcuz of the defense, switch hitting and he does have occasional games where he explodes. But I feel Griffey will replace him and Mantle will be a glorified bench bat
-
I have this very same issue. But I have this issue with pretty much every card. However I think it’s gotten worse since I prestiged Mantle. His unprestiged hit better for some reason

**** Ken Griffey Jr has entered the chat
Used to be able to kill Griffey with two words.
Top Spin. Bwuahahahaha
Remember when that was a thing? I was playing a RS game that year, hit a fly to left center with Ripken (another notorious top spin guy), and the ball spun so hard into the ground that it bounced over the hapless left fielder’s head and rolled to the wall. That’s when I knew it was really, really bad.
