Biggest L of the year.
Why? Because it was something we all expected to happen?
-
More undeserving high rated cards like the Topps now and future stars. Not enough retired players this year.
-
Prices of gold cards are shooting up. Still a chance to buy some 82's for discard price though for those who are looking to get their favorite team done on Friday with exchanges.
-
Most teams don't have a player that even remotely deserves a 90.

Will silvers keep going up, or stay at this price?

I expect they will rise and become crazy expensive Friday. Everyone is gonna want these cards the day they come out.

When will they stop rising? if I don't plan on getting any on Friday, would it be smart to buy A BUNCH now to sell on Friday? If so, silver or gold?

I would say go for both. Especially focus on NL West players. If Mookie gets revealed as the Dodgers finest, people will be in a big hurry to complete him.

True. Thanks!

Probably a little late for this at this point, but I just saved every base tier DOTP player I had. For example I have enough of Fernando Rodney to do the entire AL east and the Marlins in like 30 seconds

Still a chance on the silvers just by looking at their prices. I also bought 12 Alex Verdugo's a little bit ago for 1022 a pop.

At this point, may as well give every MLB player a diamond card. Future stars, Topps Now, Postseason, and now Finest for every team. Overkill of non deserving players.
I'm fine with special circumstances ie no hitters, or postseason hero cards. I'm even fine with finest as a "team of the year" type reward. But to go the All Star Game participation route and just give every team a high diamond is dumb.

If you ask me though there is at least one player from every team except for pittsburgh that has a good enough season to warrant a finest card though

Would a 76 do well for this? I have one that is only 103 stubs, but I am not sure if that is a high enough overall.

Frankie Lindor & Blake Snell will for sure get cards.

Remember all the complaining that Joe Carter got a 93 rated boss card? Not deserving, is what I heard many times. Carter hit the walkoff WS HR that will live forever. Brosseau got a 97 rated card for a walkoff in the ALDS. Semien gets a 98 rated card, and Molitor still sitting with a 96. He was WS MVP and hit .500 with 1.000 slugging. That's not even mentioning that Molitor inexplicably never got a Brewers card.
Lee Smith was all time saves leader at one point. John Franco is 5th all time. Their career cards apparently arent worthy of a higher rated card than 2020 postseason relievers.
Now we will get hugely inflated cards from a 60 game season that will be better in attributes than Babe Ruth or higher rated than Whitey Ford. I would say that what we have seen with inflating non deserving cards has been extremely overboard.

I agree, but that is more of a 2020 postseason/Topps Now/POTM/Future stars problem. Finest has always been this way so I don’t see why it is a problem now

Because it should be for the "Finest". A team of the year. 1 player from each position, 1/2 starters and 1/2 relievers. At this point it is a franchise season participation award.
