99 Cash?

I want a 99 Kevin Cash card! Dude was an IDIOT and ruined the Rays season, imo. We need a 99 overall. His hitting stats would be the stats of the Dodgers against Snell, AWFUL. His pitching stats (Yes, he is a two-way player ) would be his teams pitching stats AFTER they took Snell out, AWFUL. SDS, can we get this card?
-
they should just add managers to the game and make him a common quit/disconnect award.

To be fair that’s what they’ve done all year. It looks bad in retrospect but snell hasn’t pitched 6 full innings in 2 years and his ERA for the year went from 0.90 to 7.00+ after the 4th inning. And after giving up a lead off hit to the #9 hitter in a one run game I’m assuming he figured he was heading down that path again.
The real mistake in my opinion was not taking Snell out, but replacing him with Anderson, who has been awful in the playoffs, instead of one of the other bullpen aces they have (especially a lefty because mookie has been so bad against lefties this year).

Bingo, while I think taking Snell out was a mistake. Even though he had not gone 6 IP all year. Was the light usage by design? Were the Rays trying to preserve one of the few long term contracts on the roster? I know it was the WS, but a pitcher of Snell's caliber should be able to go at least 7 innings 40% of the time.
The Rays like to play the numbers, and the numbers for Anderson in the post season screamed that was the wrong move to make.
The point on Mookie doing bad against lefties makes the move that more perplexing. -

One could argue he was a main reason they made the playoffs in the first place. I feel for the guy. Just sux

I agree, he helped them. But then choked at the worst moment possible.

Yea he was definitely overthinking it and trying to be to cute. Like the Seahawks not running it with Beastmode

I like how Mookie infers during the post game interview how relieved they were that Snell was taken out. That alone tells you that it was probably the wrong choice.

Or, the Dodgers could be blamed for hitting the ball well.

Mookie had one of the lowest slugging percentages in the majors this year against lefties so we know he was glad.
