Battle passes
I'm not sure I've seen this discussed before but engaging in discussion about online only missions vs offline mission it hit me that programs are just battle passes.
I'm not made about as I love the battle pass format I think it's a good middle ground for microtransactions and free to play systems.
Why I point it out is that this is why there are certain mission that are online only vs offline achievable. With the battle pass system in place offline mission are the free to play stuff that is always free and unlockable while online mission are there for the "premium" pass holders to aquire more rewards and at a faster rate. With that said look at this way and be thankful SDS does incorporate a system where you have to pay ingame credits to unlock the full pass the next time you want to complain about needing more offline missions.

I've thought about that concept before, though I wouldn't go as far as to compare online play to premium time type battle passes. If you were only paying for PS Plus solely for the purpose of playing MLB The Show I guess, but I'd imagine most people use it for streaming shows/games and such.

Yeah I was trying find a word to compare online only mission to full access battle passes and "premium" was where I landed but may have not been the best word

The way you phrased that was aggressive at the end, considering there were people like myself not complaining, simply wishing they could add it in. And because I still think it could be a positive thing and another meaningful way to play this game offline, as there are probably more people playing this game, and even buying this game just for offline vs people playing Fortnite offline.
But I’ll admit that is a good post and good perspective and I never thought about it and compared it like that, I guess they are promoting people to play there online modes using the prestige program. I wish they wouldn’t, because, again, I believe it can be a positive thing, especially implemented with difficulty restrictions offline, but I guess I do get it. I personally just hope online play is a little better next year.
Edit: this isn’t saying offline play doesn’t have enough, but why say “offline play has enough” when we can all say “now we all have more content to play both ways”
Sorry for another long post. Guess I been thinking about this game too much lately waiting for TA4
