Picking your pitcher in Diamond Dynasty.

Are you gonna be able to pick your pitcher in Diamond Dynasty this year? Is it gonna be randomly selected or you can pick with an energy system like every other mode?

They have not said energy is in DD, but I am going to say not likely. If it is it will probably be brought up on Saturday's stream.

They said in the custom league stream they will discuss the energy thing more during the DD stream; so I'm guessing they mean that you will be able to pick your starter before the lineup screen, but you will have energy levels that mirror a five-man rotation in franchise. I think it's about time; while I like using Bob Gibson, I'm kind of tired of playing anywhere between 1-15 games before trying out a new starter just because of the randomness, or facing Ryan and Kershaw every other game.

Agreed, this is a much needed change. Will be interesting to see how they handle swapping pitchers out though.

Probably the same way they do with relievers; the one swapped in inherits the energy level of the swapped out.

This would be an amazing change to the game. So long as there isn't a way to exploit it. If it's to work properly they can have pitchers recharge based on games. Be too easy to go into CQ, quit a few times and go back into RS. Needs to be based on Innings played, 20 innings per pitcher seems fair. Any DC/Quit from opponents would recharge a full 9

I would think conquest and RS pitcher energy would be separate.

As long as there is energy I’m totally fine with pitching choice. It seems more decision based.
I don’t however think they should EVER bring back knowing if your opponent has a lefty or right going. Although that flies well in real baseball obviously. Real baseball teams can’t stack their lineup with 99 attributed lefties for a righty starter. That was just terrible gameplay imo. And actually more unrealistic then realistic

This Needs to change. I spent the rest of my stubs of Scherzer a week ago. Haven’t used him yet. I’m afraid I won’t get him until next game comes out. Bought Gibson almost two months ago. Used him like 3 times. But not Gerrit Cole. Nope I got him almost every single time.
