Dynamic Challenges mid at-bat

I dislike Dynamic Challenges overall but the ones that interrupt you while in the middle of an at-bat are a annoying. Also, what's the point of using press and hold button feature? Is it being used here just because it's new and shiny? Let's just tap the X button.

Personally for me I think the challenges are stupid because the CPU makes you fail them most of the time. As far as the button goes that is a good question. I notice it is not all the time which annoys me.
