Ted Williams?

Is he worth keeping around for his bat in left? Currently have Mantle and walker holding down the other spots. I haven't done amazing with cobb and harpers defense got him benched. Thoughts?

keep on the bench for his bat

380k on the bench?
We're 6 months into the game cycle that's not insane. I have almost 1m in pinch hitters.

cheaper than Bench and Davidson on the bench
-
Haven't even looked at trout. Might be able to get him with 380+ my banked stubbs. Just holding off because I think Mays will be in the next inning program. Can't believe yall got that many stubs on the bench. Think my biggest fault this year is not going all out on team affinity grinds cause they bore the hell out of me. But that's a place to make a ton of stubs

I mean there are better cheaper options. Like Winkler right?
-
I play Ted because he’s one of my all time favorites and he rakes. But otherwise yeah he’d be a bench bat behind trout, mantle, and cobb.

I own pretty much every card stubs are easy to come by and I am really good at investing. I keep Williams, Cobb, Bench, Davidson, and Biggio on my bench.

Yeah but do you feel the same fear when Jesse Winkler pinch hits or does seeing 99 Sig Ted strike fear into your pitcher.
Baseball is 90% mental, the other half is physical.

Thanks for the responses. Gonna give him a try
-
Haven’t tried him but I’m guessing it won’t be good if you benched Harper for his defensive liability...

I mean, this is a video game.
so its even less physical. Its still baseball, your biggest opponent is your mind.

Also idk how much you've used Winkler or faced but he hits the ball miles. Too bad he's got -50 speed

I haven't no, I use Ted Williams

I love Ted, one of my all time faves... But there are so many options for that lefty power spot off the bench, most notably Ruth (after you pick up Gehrig), Musial, harper, Thome, Thames even Walker who's a great hitter and has better speed.

Resurrecting this thread just to say I regret not using him until now with a month left in the game. Trash defense aside, an absolutely insane swing & has won me countless of games single handedly (even though he cost me runs in those same games by not getting to a ball) 10/10 would use again in 21.

Definitely one of the best swings in MLBTS history. His defense was actually surprisingly good to me this year, he still made some plays that he would never have made in previous years. But yeah the offense is worth all of that.

I didn't pick up 20 until Black Friday, so Ted Williams wasn't a realistic option for me this year. It wasn't even the million stub price tag...it was the line. I just had my order for Goose Gossage go through today and that literally took months. It wasn't worth the trouble to flip enough to earn 1 million stubs for the privilege of waiting in line for a guy who would never start on my team.
That being said, I loved the 99 Ted Williams in 19. He was one of my top options off the bench and probably hit a homerun in half of his at-bats.
