Being a Rockies fan is just sadness.

Sell the team, unload everyone, try again in 5 years.

Atleast they have some youngsters like Garrett Hampson, Sam Hilliard that have good tools and promise, even though they sit them to get playing time for those washed-up veterans like Matt Kemp and Kevin Pillar. I'm convinced the Rockies management is ageist, just in the other direction, get off my lawn you young promising players!

Just wasting Trevor and Nolan, much the same as how Anaheim is doing to Trout.

Pain.

I hear ya, man. It’s the same stuff year-in and year-our. I genuinely like Bud Black. Bridich doesn’t seem to have a clue.

Nope. Theyre more concerned with asses in the seats than a pennant. Rumor is Monfort was one of the owners okay with not having a baseball season.

I’m a dodger fan in la, but I root for and watch the angels if they’re on. The angels are just brutal to watch. I really hope they find some way to deal with their pitching. When they turned down striping and Joc in the winter, because Arte Moreno didn’t like being told what to do, I knew they were in trouble. Not that those guys would have put them in the pennant race, but they added some depth and experience and a PITCHER in exchange for a utility infielder.
As for the Rockies, I don’t watch enough to say much. But I imagine it’s the same as the angels.

Its painful bro. Pillar hit that slam and I got all jazzed, not even an out was recorded and I was sad again.

I’m not sure why they were trading FOR veteran guys this year, but at least Pillar kind of made sense. Givens is OK and they need pitching. But Murphy hasn’t worked (and why add a 1B with money when you should easily be able to find one that works at Coors). Letting DJ go was a mistake. McGee, Shaw, Davis were a mess. Gray can’t figure it out, an annual tease. Seems like Rodgers isn’t on a great path. Signing Kemp was absolutely pointless when you have young guys that need ABs.

In the Rockies defense there, the dodgers have pretty much done that every game this year. Watching the dodgers this year is similar to how it was in 2017. It doesn’t matter what the score is, everything just seems to go their way.
On a positive note for an old Rockie, jake McGee is having a bounce back year in Los Angeles.
I’m sorry. I had to throw that in there.
Follow up question..is one player in Colorado a rockie or a rocky?

As an outsider, my guess was these moves made to try and appease arenado. Make it look like they’re trying to be competitive? If not that then, yeah, your analysis is as good as any.

You’re right. There is a sense of trying to appease Nolan. Nolan just wants to win. He doesn’t want a rebuild. But if you’re showing him progress, I think he’d sign on for that. He likes Colorado. He’s just tired of losing.

Is his opt out year this year or next? I know there was an early opportunity, but not sure it would make sense for him to opt out now with the state of baseball economy and he’s not having a great year. I’m just curious.
