How Good is 99 Walter Johnson
-
Picked him up. wondering if i should cash him in for Ryan

Neither are very good. The big issue with both is a lack of velocity variation. Both have two speeds, fast or slow. If you guess right, it's a hard hit ball every time. There are far better pitchers available for 10K due to the recent market crash.

Both suck with only 2 movements and speeds on their pitches. I would get Orel, Seaver, Wood, Leiter, and Hamels before these 2 lol

As good as Brussel sprouts

They're on the lower tier of starting pitchers that are 97+. Control is an issue with Ryan you will hang offspeed or leave a sinker middle middle.
Johnsons problem like the guy about said is really only 2 speeds. If the change was around 75 with the curve around 85 he'd be gross. Outlier sinkers generally dont move as much and his doesnt feel much different.
Both will dominate if your opponent cant touch heat, but there are still better flame throwing options (Wood mainly, though 99 Feller I can confirm is gross.)
You pretty much need horizontal movement to be competitive, cutters, sliders, ect and neither has it in their pitch mix.
