Should I Have any Regrets Not Getting MLB 20?
-
I didn't get MLB 20 because I was still grinding MLB 18 and 19 missions. Then I heard that the batting and stuff was very broken, so I never picked MLB 20 up. I just stuck with 19 and played offline, doing conquest and such.
I just stopped living under a rock and learned that MLB 20 has a Signature Series Alan Trammell. Other than this legendary card, am I missing anything by not getting this year's game? Should I have regrets?
And should I just wait until MLB 21 comes out on Xbox? I don't like how the PS5 looks lol

No; it’s not trash or broken and the content and grind is great. But if you play RS, you’re not missing much. If you play offline and collections, it’s a good cheap pickup.
-
There’s a 93 Tyler Alexander. You are missing out on him.
-
It's a fresh game that inevitably will become the same grind. It's not bad, but it's not much different than last year. If that game still has life and your aren't finished just stay there.
-
I wasn't going to buy 20 after last year's line out city but my birthday was in March and my son gives me a $100 Sony gift card. I wasn't going to buy stubs for 19 so I got the digital 20 right before it came out. I enjoyed the early release but the hitting was changed 3 days in and it hasn't been the same since. Good/Good on either side of center is an out for me 90% of the time. I have played the game a lot this year because it's baseball but I wouldn't say you should have any regrets. Its not nearly as good as other editions in gameplay but the content is amazing. That's just my opinion anyway.

I do play offline and beat up CPU a lot (love conquest!), then I might pick it up.

If you love 18 (yuck), you’ll adore 20

To maximise entertainment value one should pre order or purchase as soon as the game drops each year. That way you can earn limited edition cards from events and complete missions as they are dropped. Often if you enter the game half way through the cycle it is difficult to keep up with other players who have already maxed out their teams. If you do not play events or anything online then you are not missing anything except Mantle. So if you are a Mantle fan and want to grind out enough to buy him then go for it. Otherwise just wait till 2021 and start from day one.

I havent played MLB since 17, First year playing DD and I love it. Made me not preorder madden for the first time in years. So glad i switched

I'm not playing against other teams, I just stick to offline stuff and do things like conquest and build collections.

Well then it doesn't matter what version you have so long as you have something to complete. If you have already completed 19 and have Mays and have completed all the missions and moments then you might as well pick up 20 and start on that. Mantle is a great card and super fun to use. The problem is that his prestige version is amazing but you have to play online to get that.

Perhaps you can pick up a used disk off e-bay or offer up. I wouldn't pay $60 for it now. 7 months till 21 drops

If you are into the adrenaline of getting frustrated, having 'temporary episodes' of being pissed off mode, and possible high blood pressure, that will all eventually decipitate once you take a break from the game, then MLB20 is the game for you.
This is highly contributed to the fact that pitching in online gameplay forces you to pitch bullseyes directly over the middle of the plate, just to get jacked out of the yard.
Side note: Nobody ever purposely pitches a pitch directly over the middle of the plate, but miraculously, the game will somehow make you an expert at it, and it doesn't matter which pitcher you use, it doesn't matter what their attributes are, and it doesn't matter what type of pitch you use.

Most frustrating part of this game. If pitching was fixed then this game would be great. Hopefully next year they make it easier to hit your spots

Same here. I can’t square up a pitch down the middle with the PCI lol! I’m awful

Call the strikes on the black or call strikes out of the zone to make up the strikes you do not get on the black.

Exactly! And If SDS is going to stay with the variable Umps. Then they should have a description of each home plate umpire and their tendency, where off the plate do they give more leeway for strike calls or where does this Ump squeeze the zone. I’d prefer that umps make a perfect call every time but that’s just me.

Someone back in a previous game I think it was 18 put together the tendency of each umpire and the stadiums in which they umped. It was pretty cool that someone did that.
