Should I Have any Regrets Not Getting MLB 20?

Well then it doesn't matter what version you have so long as you have something to complete. If you have already completed 19 and have Mays and have completed all the missions and moments then you might as well pick up 20 and start on that. Mantle is a great card and super fun to use. The problem is that his prestige version is amazing but you have to play online to get that.

Perhaps you can pick up a used disk off e-bay or offer up. I wouldn't pay $60 for it now. 7 months till 21 drops

If you are into the adrenaline of getting frustrated, having 'temporary episodes' of being pissed off mode, and possible high blood pressure, that will all eventually decipitate once you take a break from the game, then MLB20 is the game for you.
This is highly contributed to the fact that pitching in online gameplay forces you to pitch bullseyes directly over the middle of the plate, just to get jacked out of the yard.
Side note: Nobody ever purposely pitches a pitch directly over the middle of the plate, but miraculously, the game will somehow make you an expert at it, and it doesn't matter which pitcher you use, it doesn't matter what their attributes are, and it doesn't matter what type of pitch you use.

Most frustrating part of this game. If pitching was fixed then this game would be great. Hopefully next year they make it easier to hit your spots

Same here. I can’t square up a pitch down the middle with the PCI lol! I’m awful

Call the strikes on the black or call strikes out of the zone to make up the strikes you do not get on the black.

Exactly! And If SDS is going to stay with the variable Umps. Then they should have a description of each home plate umpire and their tendency, where off the plate do they give more leeway for strike calls or where does this Ump squeeze the zone. I’d prefer that umps make a perfect call every time but that’s just me.

Someone back in a previous game I think it was 18 put together the tendency of each umpire and the stadiums in which they umped. It was pretty cool that someone did that.

I say yes, 20 is more fun than 19 was. Plus, Big Papi and Mantle is pretty cool.
-
I would imagine in October 20 will be free with a playstation plus subscription. So if you can wait until then.
-
The hitting in 20 is nowhere near broken, it’s not perfect but definitely not broken. A million times better than 18.

I enjoy it because I don’t take video games very seriously and I’m just not very competitive when it comes to games. It definitely has its problems — particularly online — but the game is playing fairly well at this point. You missed about a month or two or completely broken defense, so be thankful you bypassed that trauma.
It sounds like you enjoy offline grinds, so you may actually like 20. March to October is almost exactly the same as it was last year, but, honestly, it’s so much more fun that it was in 19. I started the year hating the new offline mode, Showdown, but it’s really grown on me. It’s sort of like a series of Moments with a couple boss battles to break it up. If you like Conquest (I do) then you would start with probably 15 or so maps to grind through, which is pretty cool. Moments are still around in 20, but (on the whole) they’re much less obnoxious than they were in 20.
All that said — I still don’t know if I would want to get it this late in the year, tbh. Keeping up with all the content and collections has been hard enough even though I’ve had the game since the pre-release launch. I can’t imagine how overwhelming it would feel to start nearly in September and be Bronze 0, have all TA paths at 0%, no complete player programs, not have even started on the LS or other collections, and have a really weak DD team (but it won’t take long to unlock a bunch of free diamonds).
I dunno. Whatever. Everybody dies so this is all meaningless.
