This is overall, based on DD, the content and not just the game play pluses and deltas of that season. 16 was my first year with DD, it got me hooked, this year I like the content, programs and rewards better than any season. 19 was good, and opened the door and expanded to this season, they didn't change a bunch, just tweaked what was good about content and the perfect/perfect hitting result is a fun addition. 19 and 20 made CAPs fun to build, unlike the card feeding process of titles past, also adding of choice packs and more sellable rewards. 17 brought us Griffey, though the player specific missions were a terrible idea, most people (including myself) who had Griffey, had help. I was not a fan of hitting in 17, it seemed to make many cards, including the lumberjack swings, not very effective. 18 was terrible with the offline grinds, based the above, most can agree 18 was the weakest by far.

The content in 17 may have been spread out more, but what was there was better IMO. Programs had different mission types and there were no moments yet. Moments really bring down 19 and 20 for me. I put 19 over 20 because I didn't have the constant swing window/timing issues that are constant in 20.

Played DD for the first time in 16. Started late, but played DD in 17 the whole year and it was a blast. 18 wasn’t the best to put it lightly...19 finally contact hitters were usable! Tony Gwynn and Ty Cobb were machines in 19 unstoppable.

I see a lot of 16s on here. I didn’t start playing until 17 when the Griffey version came out. Kinda wish I’d started a year earlier now. Anyway my list is:

    1. 17
    2. 20
    3. 19
    4. 18

I’ve actually been playing this game since 2010 but DD didn’t make its debut til 16 I believe so I can’t make comparison between the show 16 and previous incarnations. But 17 definitely got it right. Pitch speeds were accurate less trolls making the online experience miserable. In fact most everyone that I played online would actually be polite and say gg when that lost rather than criticize the manner which the game was won. The online experience has become a toxic, who can act like the biggest [censored] and how much can I take advantage of the games shortcomings (ie baserunning cheese, bunt dance, hr replays, and up until this year the silly clowning around on routine pop ups which thankfully was fixed this year). The toxicity is almost unbearable now. 18 was a joke, online pitch speeds nerfed to suck up to those that couldn’t hit in previous years. PCI problems through the games lifecycle, and of course the new influx of arcade baseball gamers that would stop at nothing to try to find the games exploits and then use them mercilessly.
