Is he not in the game this year because he finally retired?

Unfortunately yes. Miss that little dude. Great card, always.

I thought so but I was holding out hope.
He would explode the outfield positions. It would almost be too much to handle decision wise. I'm about to get prestige Larry Walker and I'm actually contemplating locking in is regular card. I know once I do that they're going to drop an ichiro or Griffey or someone like Reggie stocker and then I will regret not getting those hundred and fifty thousand stubs. I don't even know if Griffey would be better than Walker this year.

Wait they don’t have the rights to him anymore

I think once a player retires and are no longer tied to MLB, SDS has to seek the rights from that individual player. Not sure if they have Ichiro's rights or not but since he's no longer a player in MLB they no longer have his rights unless they work something out individually.

I’m no expert on this at all but I’ve heard people here say there is usually a couple of years lag time before they start using recently retired players. I assume it has something to do with rights.

It’s going to be weird using Prestige Walker on the bench when Griffey comes out.

Yeah you could be right on that, I'm not exactly sure either. I would think they could get it done quicker assuming both parties wanted to, but who knows how this works.
