Did they change tag-up mechanics?

Maybe I'm just a dumb dumb but twice today I made the rare mistake when tagging up. Once in an event I flicked left stick to 3rd and pressed home but it sent guy from 2nd to 3rd instead. Thought it was me but it just happened again in a moment. Flicked up to 2nd to send runner to 3rd on a fly ball but instead it sent the runner from 1st to second instead.
