Maddux or Orel
-
What's the pick if you had to choose one to be in your rotation? I'm leaning towards Orel.
Already have:
99 Feller
Prestige Smoltz
Prestige Wood
98 Hal -
Orel and its not close
-
Orel, easily. Best pitcher in the game. Maddux has more haters than Orel, i think Maddux is a decent card online, but no one is close to Orel
-
Sell smoltz get burnett !! Orel over Maddux easy in my opinion! James Paxton is solid! Or get leiter hes been my favorite pitcher this year! Use hal as a reliever!
-
Orel, Maddux unfortunately is not in the same league. I have both prestiged and I believe Orel is the best in the game.
-
I would have to disagree on this one. I think Maddux is the way to go. Orel is just too frustrating to use. What's his out pitch anyways.

Sounds like someone just wants one less person to have Orel lol. He’s the best pitcher in the game and all 5 pitches are good

Yes, his out pitch is all of them. I will be the first person to tell you that some cards hit for some and dont hit for others, but in this case if you cant pitch with Orel, you are either playing someone who is way better than you, or it is operator error.

I plan on giving 98 Hershiser another start and be more patient this time. I still think 99 Maddux is a very good pitcher if used correctly. I'm sure with time I will enjoy using Hershiser as well.

Its not that I can't pitch with him, I've won 2 games with him and gotten double digit strikeouts each time. For me he just pitches differently and I just have to find that right pitch sequence that's all. My assessment wasn't meant as a knock on Hershiser as he's clearly a great pitcher to use. I just have to use him more to get the wrinkles out that's all. -

The key is always to keep your opponent off balance and his pitches have so much movement that even if you do get to be a bit predictable, its not easy to square up.

Do you guys all play on HOF? I used Orel for a bit on All-Star and got whacked. Hit him well when my opponents used him too. I'm thinking of giving him another shot....

Will try this out later. Thanks for the advise.
