So if your PCI is on and you don't use it, that explains why you don't hit like you want to.
-
my hitting interface is set to zone, what from there?I'm doubting your skills already, no offense

do you mind elaborating? I honestly don't know how I should be using it.

Spin the left stick before the pitcher sets up to warm up your thumb(i know it sounds dumb but it works). Start your pci in the area that it is hardest for you to move to and adjust from there. First at bat be aggressive to figure out the timing of the pitcher and whats early whats late. After that work the count, take until 2 strikes unless you see the ball all the way in and know you can hit it.
-
You should at least have center dots or diamonds inside of your PCI. Use the left analog stick to move those inner dots/diamonds towards the pitched ball and push the X O or Square to swing. Unless the pitch is right down the middle, you are going to have difficulty hitting any pitch with authority.
-
hitting the square and o button does make a difference? I just hit x every time.
-
X is regular swing o is just contact and square is power swing. Warning: using the power swing reduces the size of your PCI. Most people I assume just use X

so from what ive heard so far, hitting the spot with left stick and hitting the right button will make the difference- when do I hit power button as opposed to contact button, why ant I just stand in the box-see a pitch I like and hope/assume the numbers sds gives me for that hitter will correlate to the right outcome? this pci stuff is a bit absurd but im still wanting to learn.

in order to hit well I have to use pci and I have to sync the pci correctly to pitch thrown for a good hit?

Pretty much. The center of the PCI should be on the pitch and the timing of your swing is important to. By using the Zone method to hit, the attributes of the player only play a part in hitting when you put the PCI on the ball and your timing is good. It doesn't work the other way around. Just because the player is great doesn't mean automatic success. You have to do your part too.

Personally i always use X for a normal swing. Also yes you move the pci to the correct location to hit a pitch. You want to center it.

I respectfully disagree, to me if it was all about money it would just be a button push to swing and be all about the stats forcing you to have the best cards. As it stands now with enough skill you can beat 'God squads' with lower ranked teams.

I can't hit with ryne Sandberg and I just got the 99 prestige version to but I smack the ball everywhere with 95 Vidal brujne an any version yoan moncada an Charlie blackmon but Killebrew an Schmidt r pop up addicts it's all about the swing an how you work with it

There are a lot of things in this game that could be perceived as a money grab but Zone Hitting is certainly not one of them. Sorry you feel that way. Several of us are just trying to help you understand how hitting works in this game so you can enjoy it more..

I hear ya and appreciate all comments/advice, as a new player coming in there are so many minute details that a noob doesn't/wouldnt know and that noob spends money thinking better numbers mean better results, its no different than ea and madden, the majority of people in this world only care about the one thing they aint taking with 'em when they die, that's money- sad really, I hear ya yo

A noob spends money thinking better numbers means better results is the business plan of this game. Sorry you didn’t know and fell for it. Use the tips you were given for hitting and try different players to see who works for you and sell who doesn’t. Don’t lock in anybody until you find those players that work. Good luck going forward.

Its hit or miss, no pun intended. I hit really well with Chipper Jones. I've almost have him prestige.. but i've had mantle since april and he bats .223 for me, but my Biggio bats .390 it all depends on where the PCI is imo
