Everyone is really so different!
I do think drafting is really key, and while I don't see people talk about strategy around the boosts on here that much, I personally favor contact boosts. Love me the 0-0/1-1/2-2 boosts and 2 strike count boosts.
Regarding drafting, the 6th inning showdown was a lot easier because you could really focus on drafting left-handed batters, you only go up against RHPs.
5th inning was a lot harder, because it was basically all LHPs in the earlier challenges, and then Rivera (RHP) at the end. The key to Rivera was wearing him out though. While that didn't work on Maddux.
I also really recommend using Reddit guides on each of the showdowns. They'll note how each challenge is setup. Maybe there's a challenge where your 7th place hitter goes first with two guys on base. Setup the two guys on base to have speed and your normal leadoff hitter/diamond card in the 7 hole. -
The only advice I think you can get is load up on power in the line up, have speed on the bench and take pitches. There will be at lease one cheesy wonder play ini each Showdown, but just crack on and wait for meatballs.

I’ve never had trouble with showdown beat 6th inning first try today I just draft all lefty’s with high power one good closer then usually go for the first to pitches perk and down the middle perk

This is what i have been doing to beat them the last few weeks, If I know i will be facing the final boss as a lefty or Righting I load up on those with guys I hit well with, I will play a broze over A gold if i am hot and hitting well with that player, I have done so many now I know who I can hit with and who I can not. After that, I take 2 strikes on every batter in the final boss, get the pitcher tired, after two strikes focus on the strike zone do not swing on pitches way out of the zone and try to foul off pitches close to the zone. I like low ball hitters I sit middle bottom of the zone and I will use power swing, I can not hit the high pitches I lay off. i Avoid double plays this is one of the most important things, I will hit and run or just steal. I also have guys with speed and power, my lineup will be a speed guy a slower guy a speed guy a slower guy so I can hit and run. Some pitcher are easy to still on. I found that hit and running I get alot of meat balls that I can hit for HR. My bench will be one power guy and the rest speed guys so when it gets close to the end I can pitch run for my slow guys. Have good Perks, My favorite perks that work well for me is pitches down the middle and OPPO. for example the 6th inning showdown I have beat Maddux 3 times I do it over and over to get the headliner pack. I power swing I know I will get that change up at the bottom of the zone to the middle of the zone the last one i did Vs him I hit 5 hr, it went in down 15-4 I skipped alot of the blue missions. I won 18-15 with 7 outs left. hope this helps a little.
