Rhyme or reason to hitting
-
Let me start off by saying I'm not complaining. This is my first year playing the game and for the most part I'm enjoying it. I've managed to grind the complete collection halfway into gold with no extra money spent and a bit of luck in some great pack pulls. But.. I am at a total loss when it comes to hitting in ranked. I'm just trying to figure out what is being asked of me, or what the parameters are.. I just lost a game ( I lose a lot of games) after my opponent who was bronze feildin a much weaker team couldn't touch my kerry Wood for 5 innings... At one poin I think I had 11 k's in a row.. then he started to crush everything, no fouls, no pop ups, no grounders, only hr's and perfect gappers even on balls even outside and away... meanwhile I can't touch his rookie 82 Seaver. I'm sitting high, and still can do nothing with the high fb when it comes in and it's only coming at 92-94.
I'll go into the current prime and sig event and hit ok, and sometimes in ranked I hit ok.. sometimes I may as well be playing a different game. From a programming standpoint how is this happening? Does the computer try to handicap the stronger team? How can two games in the same division look so different? I played on egamer earlier where I lost 1-0. I had two or 3 hits, he had 1 (solo hr) and I think we had 30k's between us.
I have made absolutely 0 progress in ranked, i win, I lose, I don;t really progress. I doubt I'll ever get to WS and frankly I don't understand how people can.Am I the only one who's having a difficult time here? If there are other's what have you done that has helped? What do you're game box's look like? Few runs, hits, k's?

Tbh, I dont believe SDS knows the answer to this question lol

For example, in COD you have known factors. For example an SMG may have a 7-10 bullet kill at close range, a particular AR may be 4-6... Who wins the gunfight is a matter of distance, accuracy and time. You can understand why you win or lose in a situation and work on improving or put yourself in better positions. You set you're equipment then operate in the range that works best for you're style/setup.
It's hard to figure out exactly what impacts what in the Show. Maybe these things are listed somewhere but I'm new to the game and haven't seen them. Being an online competitive game I feel like these things should be known, and when buffs or Nerfs happen we should know exactly what and when.
Also, who/what is DEMISE?
Thanks,

Nothing about hitting makes sense. They try to come up with reasoning and excuses, but none of it makes sense. I've had very early home runs that I've hit and have also been hit against me, but slightly early is pulled 50 feet foul. None of it makes sense. In more games than not my opponent will be squaring up the hell out of the ball until I go into settings and turn off my pitching cursor. My opponent will start popping up and flailing at the ball from then on. It doesn't make sense.

Well, COD implemented ping based match making because they finally figured out that ping is everything and matching up people with very different pings made the game a horrible experience.
What you need in this game is that magic internet. How you get that? Who knows but if you don't have that magic internet you will see all kinds of bs a lot more than they do.

Ahh... DEMISE... I guess what's bothering me is that there are too many questions when, obviously, there are known answers because it all has to be programmed. I really enjoy the game and things like the occasional glitchy base running problem or throw issues don't bother so much, those things happen.
Does anyone notice a difference from stadium to stadium, or weather like rain (amount of data on screen).
Most of the games I match up with are west coast as I'm in Vegas, but I will get some east coast games sometimes (based on names) I'm going to start paying attention more to the differences in good games vs. those of questionable ilk. As far as hosting and servers, does anyone know where they are?

With the amount of coding in games, you are always going to have some issues. However, imo, most of the issues in this game are due to connections and not coding. I think most of this stuff works fine when they are testing it in their studios.
Quite a few people say major league stadiums are laggy. Most games feel that way to me anyway.
I believe this game is peer to peer but not 100% positive. I don't know all the details. I just know the game doesn't play very good. For some reason, if I pick like Giants stadium I seem to play people with west coast in their names or Arizona. If I pick an east coast stadium, I get east coast teams. If I pick KC, I get some KC, St Louis and OK but also quite a few east coast teams. Not sure why.
