How does timing work

I consitantly move pci to ball but even on a 0.10 secondflick im still very late unless ball is very small movement it doesnt make contact, but guys i play not near ball foul hit on very lates, last game i had pci on middle ball 10+ times even with hitting x soon ball is close to pci im late, on showdown i get good timing for same hits
