What's with all the love for Jason Kendall? He was a good catcher but 97?
Idk ask Joe Adell how he has a 99.
I've made myself overtly clear on those farces. So not only that, but we are rewriting history just for lineup diversity/new content.
It's a joke to see Feller given a 93 for his 1946 season when he led the league in W, GS, CG, SO, K, IP, and was 6th in MVP and had a WAR of 10 (pre CY awards). Yet Burnett is given a 97 for nothing more than being the only player they could think of to represent the Marlins TA. Best he ever had was a 4.5 WAR in one season.
Now we get a 97 Kendall who admittedly is much better than Burnett, but Bench is a 93?
Comparing a card that dropped in April compared to now is a little silly. Now if Bench got a 93 FOTF and Kendall’s is a 97... that’s a reason to question it. But it’s comparing apples to oranges when you compare cards that are released at different times. It’s like judging Bench’s 2nd best card as his final version.
It always amazes me that people complain about this. We all know that any mode like this is a progressive model and that the newest card is always gonna be better than a month old card. Regardless of who had the better career
Then they need to release current players, and those who are moderately newer, earlier in the cycle. Giving some scrubs cards, because they had a great week or month, totally dishonors the all-time greats. 99s and upper 90s should go to those that deserve hof status, and possibly some who could have gotten there, but didn't because of injury. There are far too many 99s in this game, and I don't see it getting any better.

Clev should be Manny Ramirez or Jim Thome. My bet is Thome

I agree with this, Prospects and Future stars should be no higher than a 89

Angles could be Salmon, Downing, Lynn, Fregosi, Boone, Langston, Troy Glaus, Jared Weaver,
God I really hope it is not Jared weaver lmao
I hope not as well.
I feel like it has to be Salmon, right? Maybe Langston. But I don’t see any of the others having very much name recognition or generating much excitement outside of angels fans.
Fregosi is Probably the Angles Goat, Baylor was great when he was there as well.
I think you guys have a new Goat out there in LA. That’s right ... 99 Jo Adell.
I know Fregosi had a very solid playing career but I’ll always think of him as the poor soul who was tasked with managing a some very, very bad Sox teams in the mid-80s.

Can’t be Joey Bats. It’s a “New” Legend

Angles also could be Bobby Grich. Power hitting 2b

Dante Bichette? Bruh, that’s so lame. [censored]. I even liked Dante a lot in real life but this is so disappointing. Could have easily been a 98-99 Helton since he’s already been a boss. That sucks.

Juan Marichal. If I remember correctly he was more of a location over velocity guy. I don't see that working well in this years game, but maybe I'm wrong! I'd love to have a new pitching staff from TA's.
Yes and no, Marichal has decent strikeout numbers but pitched in an era where length out of starters was more important than strikeouts he threw over 300 innings multiple times. By comparison sherzers most innings in a season is 228, Marichals was 325 almost a hundred more innings. His motion might be funky enough to be hard to pick up
Side note I hope they add an animation where if Marichal gets hit by a pitch he goes after the catcher with a bat
-
Dante’s 89 card would’ve been better. 89 is better vs LHP and this is only worthy of a bench bat.
I’m still happy with it. Reynolds and Bichette as my RH bats off the bench is pretty solid.

It also amazes me that people cant understand that I have an issue with the worthiness of the players given high rated cards to, not the progression of cards. Of course the game will have better cards as the year goes on. You just dont have to completely fabricate them to facilitate that agenda.

Shovel face. That's the card I'm gonna discover... Irony?
-
Oof they nerfed Tony Gwynn’s power...55 against lefties is garbage

My only gripe as a Rockies fan is Blackmon was an 87. The pitcher was 91 and now Bichette comes in at 97. It’s hard enough to get content for the have not teams this is a [censored] punch.

Jays got 85 Vlad, 90 Smith, and apparently a 97.. so it could be worse

Blackmon is an absolute monster at the plate regardless of his overall. It would’ve been nice to boost Rolison more but I can’t complain with the Rockies TA overall.
Bichette as a 97 is already a huge boost to what he really deserves.
One thing I wish they did with TAs is make all of the players prestige-able. That would really separate the die hards of those teams even if it is just +3s.

Ya I think that’s a great idea. I have walker in right and he’s not going anywhere. We get 4 outfielders every year but since they don’t have any team boosts or anything it’s not a big deal

Helton will get an upgrade later. I’m actually glad they didn’t use him here
