So, I am going to make a list of issues to look for in the game. When you see some of these tales, you should probably just cut bait and save some time because the connection for you in the game sucks and it probably isn't your connection but opponent. Now, you can still win some of these games but only if your opponent is bad. If your opponent is average or good, you are likely to get beat pretty bad. I usually know in the first inning how the game is going to go. For sure by the third. If none of these issues are present, it is probably going to be a quick game in my favor. If they are, then I have to see how my opponent is. Bad opponent and it will be a grind but a winnable game. Average to good and I am getting beat.

    Hitting

    • Good/good+ hit percentage is way smaller than a good connection game
    • PCI is jumpy. Seems to go farther than usual
    • Pitch speeds seem faster. Getting 93 blown by you.
    • Pitch recognition is extremely difficult
    • Opponent will get more hits with weak contact like anything they touch is a hit

    Pitching

    • Much harder to control analog which results in balls or pitches down the middle. Again jumpy pci.

    Baserunning

    • Base stealers get very poor jumps
    • Opponent seems to steal easy with slower players
    • Poor response on bases including rounding bases and ability to get back

    Fielding

    • So many issues here including slower reaction time and missed balls
    • animations not kicking in. I get a lot of ground balls to my outfield that just go through my fielder. Happens to Lofton the most

If you are seeing these issues in the first few innings, you are probably not going to win unless your opponent is very poor. Best to cut bait and start another game or you can finish which will probably just lead to frustration. There are times I honestly wished I streamed because I can tell very quickly how the game will go just by seeing if these things are present.

In conclusion - If none of these are present, I am winning the game usually very handedly. Unless it is a pitcher I just struggle hitting. If they are present, it depends on the opponent. A poor opponent and I can win the game but it will be a struggle. I have to hit pitches on the corner and get rewarded (which happens way less in these games) than my opponent hitting pitches down the middle.
An average or good opponent and you will get beat more than likely pretty decent because you simply can't make up the issues above. This is why the game plays poorly for a lot of people, not coding. You don't go 250-20 if you are seeing these issues constantly, you just aren't.
