QOL Change. Make X always Fastball
-
Quality of life change suggestion that bugs me. Even if a pitcher throws sliders more than their fastballs can we just make it so that X is always fastball?
It seems small and not important but it bugs me. Catchers most certainly do not expect slider when they put down 1 in a real game. So why is the primary option on some pitchers SLider?
-
Because if a pitcher pitches a pitch more than others, it’s his primary pitch. They do better in real life with that pitch so it’s his primary, X pitch in the game
-
Some pitchers don't have a fastball in their repertoire, what then?

Then have X be blank

Yeah, Patrick Corbin throws his slider 30-40% of the time and his fastball 50-60% of the time, yet his primary is set as slider, which is fine; slider can be his most effective pitch. Even if those percentages were reversed, His catcher still always puts down 1 finger for fastball. Not 2.
Again this isn't like a gamebreaking mechanic but its just a small thing where i feel like since we are effectively game managers calling pitches for our pitchers, it is sensible to align them accordingly.

That's a horrible idea.

Here’s Corbin’s percentages according to Pitch Info Pitch Types on Fangraphs in 2019:
4SFB: 19.0%
Sinker (2SFB): 34.7%
Slider: 37.0%
Changeup: 5.8%
Curveball: 3.5% -

You can change it in your settings

Please tell me how its a horrible idea? I could understand saying something like "Not worth the effort" But i can hardly see how this would hurt the experience. It is just a minor thing like asking for batting stances or swing animations to be more realistic.
