What I have found is if you just square up to bunt it’s either a pop up, foul or good bunt about the same amount of time. But drag bunting seems to work ALOT more often. Wait until the ball is thrown then press bunt is how you do it.

I put together a team of the best bunters and drag bunters and it didn't even work against the Orioles on rookie.

I’ve been able to bunt with some amount of success. Of course the batter should have decent to good bunt ratings. But what I’ve found, just like bunting in real life, is when you square around to bunt, or drag bunt, you have to let go of the triangle button at the last moment. If you hold on to it at the time of contact, it will result in a pop up or hard bunt which usually ends up an out. In real life, you have to “give” with the ball as it makes contact with the bat, thereby “deadening” the ball. It did this all throughout Jackie Robinson’s missions.

Just don’t ever try to sac bunt...it’s impossible. I’ve sac bunted into more double plays against the computer than I can count (cost me many a Showdown run, I can tell you).

Nice tip here. Makes a lot of sense. Never thought of easing up on the triangle just before contact. Def trying this out bc I like keeping at least 3 SPD demons (like Ozzie, Brujan, Mondesi, etc.) in my lineups.

I'd also add that bunt success greatly depends on who you're facing. Probably shouldn't even attempt a bunt knowing that the catcher (Bench, Grandal, I-Rod) and/or pitcher (Greinke, Maddux) is a DEF wizard in terms of FLD/REAC ratings.

I tend to start the runners when bunting with a average speed guy on 1st. In order to not get a double play you have to have a quick guy on first anyone below 70 speed seems to get thrown out at second.
