He’s a 96 prime series. I woulda thought an awards series would of represented him better personally but I’m fine with it. He’ll be very good nonetheless and I’ll probably stick him in left until some god cards come out

I think he will have more than sneaky pop. In 2016 his flashback 2011 card had 94 power vs righties when 99 was the cap

The only thing this card will be missing is a good arm. This card always rakes. Hitting is unpredictable this year though so who knows.

But there’s no reason for Jacoby Ellsbury to have a Prime 96 card. Just give us his 2011 card and that’s it. That’s all his Prime was.
But let’s make Ben Zobrist’s prime card a 94. Makes no sense whatsoever. I’d understand if this Ellsbury card was an Awards series based on 2011, but it isn’t.

It should have been an awards card. Like Heyward..
To be a prime, it's fair to compare him to other primes, and to have him higher than Zobrist makes no sense..
Seems to me, they just wanted to recycle the same card art from multiple years instead of create a new one for an awards series -

I don't fully understand the "prime" cards this year. Obviously sig series is their overall career. Awards is a specific year they won a major award. Prime means the prime of their career? Is that similar to a sig series? Can someone have a 95 prime then a 99 sig series? Wouldn't prime mean the best they were in their career? How can you be a 95 in tour prime year but a 99 over your career? Wouldn't prime be your best year? So actually better numbers than your overall career averages?

I was under the impression that Signature Series was based on a player’s entire career, Prime was based on a player’s best consecutive years, and obviously Awards is one of their best seasons boosted.
Apparently my idea of “prime” is not the same as SDS’s idea of “prime”

No.. Sig is if say you were fast when you were a rookie but not a good power hitter. And at the end of your career you were slow but hit dongs... Sig would give you the speed and dongs...
Prime isnt supposed to be pumped up like that, but rather just what you were at your peak
