Event matchmaking

What exactly determines who you play. I am constantly playing guys with a record somewhere in the 47-20 record or way more wins than losses, meanwhile I am like 32-67 and constantly getting killed. Im just wondering how do I get matched up with somebody of a similar record.
Im sure it's random, but I NEVER see anybody with my similar record. Doesn't make sense.

It bases you on your current event run. So if you are on a 3-0 run, it tries to match you up with someone else who is 3-0

It is not based on your ranked season record, it is based on what your record is for that particular event entry

Ya it seems way too easy for good players. Makes no sense that we’re always marched up against guys w World Series baners. Makes it way too easy for them

Well my current record was a stellar 0-16 so how was it even possible to get matched against better players. Doesn't seem to add up to me.
Every entry went 0-2, start over, rinse and repeat. So Im getting matched up against players starting a new entry? -

Not your total run, your current run.
As in, when you reenter after losing 2, it tries to match you with someone else who is 0-0 on the current entry.
Not total wins, wins on the current entry.

Ok that makes sense. I guess I have the worst luck ever. Very frustrating to say the least. 40 wins seems impossible for a player like me

I just got my third on this event only because my opponent lost connection. I have so much trouble getting even single hit and have ZERO clue why. My timing seems right, PCI Placement is close, but always get a good/okay out.

Is anyone else playing this to prestige hitters? I hit 60 wins last event, and reweards weren't added to this one.
