Does a closing pitcher not count as a reliever?

I just finished this game in the current event: https://theshownation.com/mlb20/games/55638664?username=Rbase_96
As you can see, I struck out 4 batters with All-star closer Kerry Wood. However when I look at the mission screen in may monthly awards stage 2, the mission 'Tally strikeouts with relief pitchers' still says 0/10. Do strikeouts with closing pitchers not count?
Edit: I see that the box score is doing weird stuff... I scored 2 in the bottom of the second inning and 2 in the bottom of the third inning. Why does it say 0 in the second inning? Weird.

Ok, thanks! I thought I used closers to unlock Wood (whose program had a similar mission) so I wasn't sure.
