Showdown gripes

In general, I like showdowns. They’re fun and it’s not mindless grinding. However, there are 2 things about that are absolutely dumb.
First, in offense-only challenges, why do I have to waste time on defense? Vice versa for pitching-only challenges. I get that there are perks that are triggered by score but at least give the option to fast forward.
Second, for the card rewards on the challenge before the final boss, why on earth are pitching cards offered? There is absolutely no point to do that, except possibly for Ohtani.

Good points and suggestions.

For your second point, only thing I can think of is that if you haven’t chosen many (if not any) pitchers previously, that may be why you see it at the end. There may be a predetermined number you need to draft. (Similar to BR)

My gripe is the amount of POP UPS I'M GETTING!!!
I'm getting good timing and I'm square to the ball, but getting A POP UP! The CPU would get a foul tip in this exact scenario! Why do I have guys like 99 Sheffield popping up! With RISP! This is constantly happening in Showdown.
