If this game is frustrating, but you love baseball...

A suggestion, for what it’s worth. For the record, I would probably be categorized as an SDS fanboy in these forums. So, you can take that into account...
If you are really frustrated with this game, but love baseball, try MTO. The key, though, is to view it as a way to enjoy baseball, not as a way to get affinity. The affinity is just a bonus. It is not a means to an end. It is simply an enjoyable activity.
If you haven’t already moved on, let me be more specific. Pick a mode that is challenging, for me that is hall of fame. And, DONT go into it assuming that you have to win the World Series to get all the affinity. Remember, affinity is a positive byproduct, not the the end. The challenge is coming from behind in the bottom of the ninth or trying to catch the Yankees with the rays. But, if you fail, you have plenty of opportunities to recover.
Are you with me still? Now, go into settings and turn off the fast speed. Watch the cut scenes in between pitches. Watch the breakdown of you 360 ft homerun brought to you by statcast. Watch the intros. Enjoy PNC park at sunset or a day game at dodger stadium. Don’t be afraid to trade for a pitcher because you don’t want to waste time. Do it to help your team.
Then, at the end, maybe you’ll have a new future stars card and you’ll be ready to jump back into online.
Just a suggestion, because I know many of you are frustrated because you want to play a game about the sport you love. Take it or leave it. Just trying to help.
PS. Don’t do the orioles or the Astros. The backdrop is really annoying when you are trying to hit and you will be back here yelling at me.
This game really has a lot of awesome things to offer. I think they are showcased in MTO.

I havent played in a week. Only thing that makes me wanna play in the past is watching youtube clips of baseball moments. Still not even this past week has that worked.

I’m not sure if MtO changed in any meaningful way in MLBTS20, but I really like it this year and I really disliked it in 19. But I think I may have MtOD’d when they were giving double TA points though, so I kinda need a break from that mode (I did several runthroughs in a week). But i agree that it is pretty fun!

I like MTO, but it needs some quality of life adjustments. Having to constantly set your lineup/rotation is annoying, as well as not being able to choose who gets called up or sent down. It’d be more enjoyable with some easy fixes like that.

I agree with you for sure. Either let us set lineups or don't make it an option. I don't have a big issue with the call up/send down. But, it would be nice to get bat called up or a solid defensive sub, instead of a pitcher.

Someone take that wine glass from the OP. MTO gets repetitive after 6 seasons of it Mets 3, Yanks 2. Nats 1. The momentum system is meaningless when you hit the postseason. Every playoff game is 0-0, or us trailing. Then of course, glitch or not, they dangled hidden or was it glitched double affinity points. I'm done with this mode.

The all or nothing part of it last year was a big issue for a lot. This year, you can play MTO for a night and still get something towards your affinity. And, you can not make the playoffs and still make decent progress. Many people just played the regular season for the quick affinity and avoided the playoffs altogether.

Haha. I like that.
But, I have another option for you...grab a glass yourself and sit back and enjoy the beautiful views from Toronto while you try to catch the evil empire.
Or not. To each their own. Just a suggestion. I'm on my 8th run, and I still find different things to appreciate.

I'm enjoying watching game 4 of the 2004 ALCS on ESPN right now.
I cant stand listening to McCarver though. One of my favorite memories was watching Deion douse him with that container of water.

Big "fan boy" myself, but I had to put it away (I have the LS collections complete). I came back today to finish the 3rd inning conquest game, made it through one game before putting it away again.
Burned out, and bummed out. Oh well, still enjoy interacting with all of you here.

It may bust be the teams I’ve played with, but I was really expecting Morrow to be called up for the Cubs and Austin Riley for the Braves. Neither were.

I really enjoy MTO like you said I use it as a break from the DD Grind. I use it as a balance and always keep a MTO open to work on I have a Dodgers run that I will like finish the Regular season tonight then will chip away at over the next week.
