I rarely fail a showdown and when I do is mainly cause I didn't read what needed to be done and just play like a fool. But I'll give you a secret, taking 'till 2 strikes could be as bad as swinging at the first few pitches of an at bat. What I do different? Well, I power swing 'till I get 2 strikes then just normal swing. If you connect, you're most likely to get a hit and then RNG gods and Ramone will be with you all the way.

Good thread guys. Quick question, I played my first showdown today the 3rd inning one. I have not played any others because I hate playing the computer. Anyway my question is I played all the way through which took over an hour, but I’m not good enough to go right in down 15-0. So it was 15-10 for the final challenge and I beat it with like 15 or 16 outs left from 20. It took a while but I thought it was fairly easy. Is the other showdowns harder for team affinity points or the same? I’m assuming they are much harder because I always see everyone complaining. Thx

From my experience, it's entirely based on who YOU hit well/poorly against. I have had relatively good success in showdowns except for the NL Central, which most people say is quite easy. I was constantly getting shut down by Jack Flaherty in the second boss battle. I've hit him well online/ conquest but for some reason, I couldn't handle him in the showdown moment. That being said, I decided to play up to his boss battle and sim directly into the final moment vs. Hader which I find laughably easy. I've beat this moment 6 consecutive times now with ease, usually going into the moment down 15-9 or 15-8.

In my experience patience is always good in MLBTS but in showdowns it doesn't really do too much. If you get a pitch to hit first pitch, let it fly man. Only downside is that if you get consecutive outs in early counts, the pitcher's confidence will go up rather quick and that will significantly tone down the results on your good swings.

For me I seem to be more focus If I take a few pitches, I do not have good pitch recognition, I sinker looks like a fastball in the zone but then drops, I have a swing and miss or a ground out. I think everyone has to find what works for them. I read a lot of advice on the form this week so I played showdown last night and used some of it. Most of it was good, I just need to be more patient and not swing at pitches out of the zone.

I need to try the 3rd inning showdown again when my confidence comes back. I was doing fine until the first boss showdown and then Bruce Sutter sliced through me like i was blindfolded. I tried everything and honestly had trouble even making contact. I haven’t recovered from the experience yet.
