I use directional (not switching to zone, no need to debate it haha) and I am having all kinds of trouble hitting with Gorman. I am only about a .213 hitter anyways, but I dont have the trouble with any other player as I have with him and that is that the timing is late on 100% of his AB's. I have not squared up or pulled anything with him and I cant figure it out. I have FOTF Soto and Trout, who have comparable hitting attributes, and this doesnt happen when I hit with them. Its bewildering. Anyone else on directional have any tips?

Not trying to debate it, but staying on directional hitting there is no way of improving because it's all RNG and randomness. Switching to zone is the only option if improving is a goal of yours. Yet another ridiculous thread on your end, you're on a roll my dude.

Ha calling me a rook, the irony is strong with this one. Good luck improving my guy.

Maybe give Nolan Jones a try. I like him. Haven’t used Gorman tho.

As far as hitting maybe push the stick harder I don’t know.

To answer your question....his swing timing is probably slightly different than most guys you use. Kind of like jump shots on 2k.

Not a directional guy. I use zone for the same reason I use button accuracy for throwing. I dont want ai input to screw things up for me. That's my job.

No offense to anyone but if you struggle with that Gorman card, I dont even know what to say. That card hits absolute rockets everytime his bat connects.

Funny enough I went into practice using his roster player, which has common below avg attributes and faced Scherzer, Cole and Buehler on HOF and didnt have any issues with timing. Perplexes me why a stud card on AS in DD would hit worse than a common player on HOF in practice mode,

Gorman has over a 1.000 OPS for me, love him to death, though I would no matter what since I think you can guess what team I root for lol

Practice mode is only good practice for offline. There are too many differences between online and offline. Play with friends is probably your best bet for quality practice. My son and I will play friendlies and work on hitting different pitches in troublesome locations. If you dont have a readily available friend to run with hmu.
