My take on the game and why it's such a mess

SDS

It's clear to me that after the initial patch that messed with hitting SDS doesn't have any plans on further hitting patches. We are stuck with good/okay center PCI RNG.

We still have the fielding issues, the HR sign after a dinger you have to pause to remove, CAP resets, no logo games, online team jerseys transmitting to Showdown, good/okay, the hangers, RS timing when compared to an event or league of the same difficulty, several issues.

We will not see these issues fixed. I dont believe this is related to Covid-19 at all, I feel it's entirely due to the Ps5 release looming and SDS wants to make sure MLB 21 is the best version we've had yet and 20 is already an afterthought.

It took Trevor May's freakout to even get recognition of the horrid fielding. This is the game we are stuck playing for the rest of the year until the Ps5 drops and we get 21. Content wise, can't complain other than the future stars/prospects being so highly rated (imagine how cool that is for these minor leaguers tho).

My 2 cents on the game state and what I expect in the future.

SDS

My question after reading your entire post is, will you still keep playing the game ?

Somewhere in a NY suburb a kid is raking with his cousin Kevin Smith.

I'd like to say no, but I love baseball and with no actual baseball going on it's hard not to play. I may however take a hiatus (as I do every year when I just need a break) and play something else. Been eyeing Dark Souls 3, beat DKS1 several times, platinum in DKS2 twice, but never did beat 3. Think it may be time!

Sadly every year someone has to make this post...and we realize it might not get better and then SDS walks in like Morpheus after sparring with Neo and says....

" .....How did I beat you?? "

this just reminded me, can a developer remaster those matrix games? can we get SDS to branch out and do that?

I downloaded it for free way back when, didn't particularly enjoy it. Found it difficult to play since it's much faster paced. Definitely plan on giving it another go however.

Can’t go wrong with Dark Souls 3 whatsoever, but would definitely suggest giving Bloodborne another shot. 100% takes some getting used to because you have to play a tad differently from Dark Souls. Once you get the hang tho, you’ll love it imo. Just a heads up, the game definitely has some boss battles that’ll have you reconsidering getting mad when it comes to mlb the show lol

This game is a nightmare. I just lost 2-1 because of this bs hitting system. Top of 9 Barry parking with great power hits a good squared 102 mph liner off newhauser for a weak bs out. Sandberg good squared for a weak fly ball the Reggie Jackson flys out to the wall on a good squared. Opponent hits a very early okay single, then a good weak single and a opposite field walk off in a late weak hit. I had 15 good okays or higher for outs.

Man I'm sorry that happened to you, but that's literally how baseball works (except it doesn't tell you where the batters eyes were on the TV).

Guys win or lose all the time on bloop singles, that's what it is.

Agree with your post. This part made me laugh, we should not have to say in a video game, “we’ll get em next year”. I have a feeling it will be the same ol’ song and dance.
