Every time I get close to WS

It's amazing how I can best guys with 12-0 banners or guys with WS banners, but as soon as I get close all of a sudden I'm playing guys in the low 700s and can't win. I'm decent at this game, but I'll be the first to admit I'm not good enough to beat my opponent AND the RNG.

Just played a guy who had a man on 2nd with two outs and scored 2 runs on a weak contact grounder through the infield after swinging at a ball in the dirt and then an ok contact double off the wall. Scores his third run on back-to-back sac flys after a late swing groundball double down the line. It would have been nice if even ONE of his runs had been the result of a decent swing but I guess RNGesus wasn't on my side.
