Everyone’s gotta eat. If they addressed gameplay it would be different. They rush to fix something that cost them money but not gameplay. That’s straight trash

Yes I am not very happy either. I understand their goal is to make money and for those that like to spend money on content, good on you. But I like everyone else paid for the actual game (not content) and expect a certain level of game play. I am glad that there is good content out there but they need to fix the game play as well. There are still issues with timing and user input in pitching as well as many others from looking on these forums.
It almost seems like pure stubbornness that they are refusing to admit that their game has issues. It took the players league and pro players bad mouthing fielding for anything to get done!
It's too bad as I really like the game and have bought it every year since 07. And since DD came to be, the focus on game play has been less and less and the amount of bugs/issues has been more and more!
They have been promising more offline content, and there was a bit of that this year, but it didn't included our DD teams! I preorder the Digital Deluxe edition every year with the hopes of more offline DD modes, yet the only thing I can do with my DD team is conquest or play vs cpu, which they are reducing the xp to in this new patch!!! So no more Digital Deluxe Preorder for me next year. I will just pick it up used 1 month after release and save myself the heartache.
Is anyone here happy...like, ever?
they all sound like my ex wife

Agreed. That's why I'm baffled at what a wreck this game actually is. Basic gameplay is crummy. Patches make things worse than they were before. The bigger problem is that this latest microtransaction cash grab is blatantly obvious in a time when people are dying and the economy is tanking. Plenty of million dollar companies are adjusting accordingly to keep their customers, e.g., AllState. Unless SDS does a complete about face, they will likely never see a dime from me again.

Same! I will never give them a dollar again

That all they care about is the money. They won’t fix balls going through the fence. They don’t fix good good. They don’t fix fielding. But if I want to sit and play HRD all day because their online play is sooooo bad... PATCH
It screams they only care about money. Leveling up fast =stubs = people
Not buying stubs. They don’t fix gameplay but they’ll fix exploits that they created.I’ve already purchased ps plus specifically for mlb the show but after this year I am DONE with SDS. Why don’t they patch a foul ball being called a foul tip. I ball fouled into the stands is not a foul tip!!!!
Your a 34 bronze you have no right to speak

But when they flash Derek Jeter as the new legend next year casuals will be throwing fistfuls of cash at them and they know it

Some of you never took a business class in your life and it shows... SDS is in the business of making money. You think the devs are working for free and donating their salary? Every patch is always going to address what protects the money most because without money you have no product. If you’re unhappy with mlb the show over the money aspect you’re not gonna be happy with video games in general so you should take up a new hobby like bird watching. But buying equipment to bird watch might cost you money too so you might not like that. Madden, 2K, The show and pretty much every game with an online aspect are in the monetization phase of gaming. If you want the best product you need to pay for it. It’s sad but true. We’re no longer in the days of just buying a base game at drop gets you a lot of content. Nothing is free. Whether you spend your time or your money. So do yourself a favor. Take a deep breath and just play the game or don’t. Tedious posts about not coming back next year aren’t changing anyone’s mind lol there’s about a million on this site at this point. Whether you stop playing or 100 dudes do that post they will. There’s still 100 more that will play and buy stubs in your place and keep the game afloat.

Except the economy is tanking this year. The little disposable income left is going to go to the games that actually work in the future. The issue here is not the microtransaction model itself nor the content SDS is dropping. SDS doesn't seem to really care about quality control and goodwill which is the long game. How SDS still has the MLB and MLBPA licenses astonishes me when it comes to quality control. I'd love to see what that deal and the resulting cashflow looks like.
I'm not going to say I'll never give SDS any money ever again, but it's not looking good. Between the economy and this year's gameplay, it's probably not going to happen any time soon. I haven't played since '16, so I already know what taking a long break feels like (and it's better than playing '20 lol). I gave it a whirl this year because of all the good reviews of '19 and the free time I knew I would have on my hands when it dropped. Being a realist, I figured the servers would crash because everyone was staying home and playing. Ironically, that's been the least of my issues with this year's game.
I don't even really care about the XP "exploits" because I still have more diamond cards than i ever have because of all the free time I have now without them, period. I didn't even know how to do the steal cheese, and I don't count HDR as an exploit because it's simply smart to use your time efficiently, and if it's your goal to get so much XP in so much time and that's the amount of XP per HR the game dropped with, then have at it! I finished an MTO season before the points were doubled and thought the doubling of TA points with the patch was SDS responding to consumer feedback and throwing out a goodwill bone. Even if I was naive, taking away something that was given to the consumer, even inadvertently, is not going to earn you goodwill points. Call them SDS Affinity points. I can give SDS less rewards, too lol.
Here's my real issue with the new patch. I think even without any "exploits," people are simply grinding for XP more than usual because the current situation has a lot of people tightening their wallets and at home more (with no sports to watch), and it feels like SDS is just plain not liking that. They already have our money from the purchase of the game, so it just comes off as slimy that they're making this blatant money grab on the microtransactions now without fixing the core gameplay. THAT is why I will probably not spend another dime on this game.

I think I’m general we all have a love for baseball and being able to play something like diamond dynasty is nice. But it’s extremet frustrating to see how fast they can fix them losing money but not gameplay
Yes my point exactly. It's really a big f-you to the user base! I am all for fixing exploits but what about fixing the broken game people paid their hard-earned money for!
From what I have seen of SDS over the years I think they are getting a bit arrogant about their game! I think at this point they will not fix it as to them it would mean admitting they messed something up! In all honesty, if it wasn't for the players league and pro players screaming that fielding is broken, I don't think fielding would have gotten and patches either!
Unfortunately it’s a monopoly. We will get results when another baseball game drops
RBI and Super Mega Baseball go ahead knock yourself out

I’m not disagreeing with you in any way shape or form but if you really think about man, there isn’t a single game that when it relies heavily on an online aspect is perfect. It’s just unrealistic. Its really unfortunate for us the paying consumers but it is what it is. Although games couldn’t do the weekly server patch updates they do now to fix issues I feel like my money was better spent on sports games 10 years ago before the mut/dd/myteam craze. Features were made to enjoy the game year round and keep it fresh. Not make you spend your money on a merry-go-round of upgrades. But it is what it is. It’s been like this in sports games for 5 years. We all know it. I just think it’s pointless to make posts threatening not to play. For every one person threatening(and we all know those same people will be back next year) there’s 10 buying $100 worth a stubs. It’s fruitless. Posts that say “SDS only cares about money” um duh lol so does EA, 2K, Epic and whoever else is making games. We’ve done it to ourselves making these companies billions lol

You are so right. This patch pretty much seal the deal that I am giving up on mlb 21 next year. Not gonna buy the game anymore

same. I am moving to other games already. Too bad, I won't even complete the 3rd inning program due to the state of things. Oh well.
