Cutters and Sinkers
-
I keep seeing posts about Sinkers being hard to hit and I have had my fair share of issues with them nothing drives my crazier than cutters. I don't know what it is I cannot hit them. I may get a lucky bomb or so off of one but for the most part it's out. How do you guys work on hitting certain pitches and recognizing them out of the pitchers hand. I'm 16-2 right now in Ranked seasons

Problem with sinkers is the animation is too similar to the change up bump when picking it up out of the pitchers hand. If a pitcher has a 4 seam and a cutter its more of a small movement to adjust to it to hit it. When you know the pitcher has those two pitches you can just watch for the slight movement off center to know its going to cut and it only requires a slight PCI movement to square it up. Hitting a cutter is more about just knowing the pitcher has that movement in his repertoire and working on that slight pull of the PCI to adjust to it when you see it start to move.
People have issues on legend with sinkers because its not a slight adjustment to time up a mid 80s vs high 90s pitch by the time you recognize it.

No smartass. The vertical bump out of the hand that is ANIMATED for all pitchers in the game for sinkers and changeups for the purpose of reading pitches out of the hand.
