Yep. They patched fielding. NOT!

Several fielding bugs were patched, not all. Says so in the patch notes.

You want $1 because you stopped running, started running, hit the dive button, and didn't get to the ball in time?
OK, give me your PayPal, I'll send you $1.
-
lol, I think the entertainment I got from watching that is worth $1.
Or maybe the validation is worth it, because I've done something similar before (without the stop/start running). I never knew the right joy stick made you jump or dive until I accidentally moved it while chasing a ball.
I think we will be waiting a long time for the "This dumass wants to dive?! Nah, let's not do that" patch. -
Okay I gotta ask... What do you use to jump and dive? If your not using R1 (jump) R2 (dive) this is your issue. Any slight touch of the right stick when fielding will cause your player to dive or jump. Keep your thumb away from it as best as possible

I’d agree with you on this if there wasn’t numerous videos out there in which show some pretty obvious errors that clearly were not the fault of the player. This could have been his fault but the truth remains the game does force errors at inconvenient times.
-
I have a video of this guy getting his first hit in the 7th inning of a game bc my 99 Barry Larkin didn’t lock on to the ball in shallow left lol. Thankfully i got out the inning and he rage quit after. I would have posted a rant like this myself

I didn't dive. The game dove for me. If you notice that little 'stutter step' right before I dove; that's when the error began.
May be a controller issue. I had a controller that had a messed up R2 button. It would randomly hit R2 when I played games. Swapped controllers and never had that issue again.
-
I’ve never had a fielder just dive like that on his own.
Either you’re doing something wrong, or you need a new controller.
-
It’s impossible to patch user error.
-
This video was a lol especially his demand to get his stubs back haha.
-
It seems like my infielders run in slow motion and get horrible first steps since the patch!

Looks like it's a controller issue. Same thing happen to me in 18
-
Dude that's all you. Another player trying to blame something else for their mistakes
-
To people saying how ita my fault; how come it happened and I wasn't even touching the controller? The CPU will take control of the player and move him towards the ball UNTIL I take control of the controller.
Since fielding is such a crapshoot; on any fly ball; I dont even touch my controller until the player is under tge ball.
I do think it's funny though that when there are other people on here stating that it has happened to them; that it a 'broken' controller (when it isnt eveb a week old) or user error; when the cpu is controlling the guy.
I'll look in my video to see id I can find the one where I'm trying to throw the guy out at home and the ball sales past the catcher; because the cpu decide to have him flop on the ground BEFORE I completed the throw

That was all on you my guy, quit crying.
-
Considering that you’re bungee jumping in a baseball field, and then complain that fielding is broken is hilarious. And if you didn’t mean to jump that’s probably your controller that’s messed up.
-
All you.

There is only 2 situations where a Fielder will dive by himself. While I agree that fielding is brutal in this game a fielder will never dive by himself unless you have a broken controller or have auto fielding on, which are both at fault to the user
-
100% user error

So, the computer is controlling the player? Then turn that option off and control the fielder yourself. Sounds like you were doing the retro mode Xp grind and didn't turn that back off. That's on you.
