I'm afraid I have to disagree, I mean it's plainly obvious that MLB 20 is > MLB 19, by at least 1.
Also, are you using April 27th MLB 19 or November MLB 19 for your comparison?
I'm sorry but 19 is miles better than 20. I made ws every season. Some seasons it took my 20 games and others it took about 40 to 50. I got to go past the 1000s and reach the top 50 a bunch of times (i never finished in the top 50 so i never got that cool banner) but you get my point. I was able to figure out ways to generate offense admist the lineuots and toss shutouts with cheap diamond and gold pitchers.
So 19 is better than 20 because you personally performed better?
Because I didn't see any specific feature(s) mentioned in your ego dump.
-
Pitching was just as bad in 19, it's just hangers usually ended in lineouts, so it isn't as noticeable.

Yeah thats just a small reason for it. The content was amazing. Despite the lineuots, were we given free easy moments and cards that were cheap and hit amazing well or better than some of the best ones in the game until the finests came out. Even when the wind was taken away from the game and it was lineuout central for a few months, the frustration of not getting homeruns to leave sucked but we at least got to see the ball travel farther and see it hit harder. This year there's alot of lazy fly balls from squared ups that aren't perfect perfect. So for us to experience that while all of us are locked inside is a huge step back imo. Basically the losses are tougher than last year and will generate more frustration from players like me, and others maybe not you though cause your probably having more success. At least with the lineouts you could stay more optimistic knowing that your hitting the ball hard. Pitching doesn't help either this year.

Not true at all, now I'm not arguing 20 is a good game. But no one was "optimistic" when lining out last year. All people did on twitter or when they livestreamed was comment "good/squared" because it was a joke where you lined out a ton when you got that.I think you're forgetting about how much frustration lineouts were to the community, people weren't "optimistic" about those issues.

Its close but I honestly don't remember this many hangers on perfect pitches last year. I could be misremembering or I may not have noticed it like you said, but it does feel alot worse this year

I remember how frustrated people were and i was too however, the frustration levels are different when your able to still generate more success than failure. Think of it like this. If you were lebron in your prime and NBA changed the rules to where it mess up the way you scored but didn't stop you from making the all star team and getting to the finals, you'll still express frustration to adam silver the commissioner but overall you'll be satisfied with where your at. But if those rules stopped you from making the all star game, making the playoffs, and turned your season into one of your worst statistical seasons, then you'd be more upset and don't have anything to fall back on. That goes for the players who aren't the best but are decent too but are forced to take a step back or lose their game a little before trying to get their groove back

Maybe, because the skill gap was less in 19, that's why you made it farther then now. Because say what you want about 20 (Fielding good/ok etc), I truly believe the skill gap is higher simply because you can't foul off a 10 pitches anymore. There is actually swing and miss in the game.
Ragging on the game for 1. fielding, 2. good/ok, 3. pitching is absolutely understandable. But I don't think those can be entirely blamed for you not making WS in 20.
Pitching Rebel has a much better record this year, he's only lost 9 games. Even I have a better record than last year, because "for the most part" hitting is better rewarded.

I want to believe that the skill gap has increased this year but i can't because I've played too many games where I should've had 7 to 8 runs but ended up losing 3 to 2 against corey kluber or Oswalt. I'd argue that skill gap has been decreased. SDS might have taken advantage of everyone being stuck inside to lure alot of mediocre players to stay in DD by decreasing the skill gap making them think they can hang around in a one or two run game where they should be getting blown out. Also it can get players to think that they're not playing well enough which can force players to play 4 to 5 more games to make up for losses they didn't deserve. Sorry for straying away from like gameplay and stuff but I'm just trying to summarize examples that I'm seeing others deal with.

It's funny, because it seems the top complaints haven't changed, just some of the names posting them.
MLB 19 top complaints:
- too many lineouts, especially on Good/Squared
- random fastballs going down the middle regardless of input
- All Star difficulty
- pitch location not matching input
- "network error" causing losses
- PCI feedback not being accurate
- too much RNG
- comeback logic / DDA
- Late/Jammed being rewarded more than Good/Squared
- SDS catering to "Little Billy" who got the game for free in Oct.
I think these forums might be scripted...

That goes for the players who aren't the best but are decent too but are forced to take a step back or lose their game a little before trying to get their groove back
Sorry, but I don't think that's a very valid complaint on 20. There are a TON of things to rag about on 20
"That goes for the players who aren't the best but are decent too but are forced to take a step back or lose their game a little before trying to get their groove back"
Maybe, because the skill gap was less in 19, that's why you made it farther then now.
Nope, sorry don't buy it. 20 has a lot of issues, but 19 takes the cake on less skill gap. Or can you explain to me why Rebel is winning more? Because he's not lining out as much. He's getting rewarded for his swings.
I think you're judging it way too much on your experience. I'm not trying to be hardheaded and I'm not calling you "bad" per se, but judging your skill based on MLB the Lineout 19 isn't a good measuring stick. Your entire assumption is based on "Well I had success last year, so that means I should this year, if not, it's the game".

Wow, the TSN forums must have been like paradise last year, what with hardly anyone complaining and having so much fun playing 19.
Lmfao yeah nobody complained at all bro. But yeah unless you can tell me what I'm doing wrong in my mind, nothing will change the fact that right now, I'd take MLB 16 over MLB 20 without even thinking about it.
It's funny, because it seems the top complaints haven't changed, just some of the names posting them.
MLB 19 top complaints:
- too many lineouts, especially on Good/Squared
- random fastballs going down the middle regardless of input
- All Star difficulty
- pitch location not matching input
- "network error" causing losses
- PCI feedback not being accurate
- too much RNG
- comeback logic / DDA
- Late/Jammed being rewarded more than Good/Squared
- SDS catering to "Little Billy" who got the game for free in Oct.
I think these forums might be scripted...
You should google what sarcasm means

Not really. I'm using that and a bunch of other reason such as a marketing strategy, rng being increased, and legitimate reasons that explain the decreased skill gap. I had a game this year against someone 55 - 60 at bayfront on all star where i won 3 to 2 in 16 innings but i squared up 13 pitches in the middle of the zone that were either good okays or perfect perfect outs. I had 1, 2, 3 innings while he had the bases loaded more than 3 times in extra innings from bad fielding, throws into the stands, or late hits. I used my awesome pitching skills to escape those jams and survive until the 16th and won. I have had more losses that prove skill gap has decreased more than wins that show hitting is better.

I’m not trolling. I’m just saying that with a drop off that big there’s no possible way it’s entirely the game’s fault. In fact, most truly good players are having even more success this year because of the increased skill gap. You seem to be in the minority.
Besides that, good players will always adapt; they’ve done it every year. It doesn’t matter what hitting engine you give pitching_rebel, he’s gonna hit like crazy. Maybe you’ve just gotta adapt.

And i believe I good enough (or was) to use my judgment because i can tell when I'm not squaring up the ball or in a slump. Personal feedback can be used as evidence to prove something wrong in a game. Or you could just spend a bunch of money, get all the best cards in the game, and gain a bigger advantage over everyone else

Your right about that. Not everything in the game is the games fault. I lost a bunch of games this year from being frustrated and still playing while still squaring up pitches and losing. I thought i wasn't good enough at 834 in the Championship series thinking my hitting was off before i took a bs 6 game losing streak. Not everyone can be pitching rebel and put up 10 runs in 3 innings after bs games. Not everyone can play like micheal jordan and beat anyone no matter what odds are against them. There are people more talented then us at the game. He has better finger skills than i do with the pci.
