I don’t really know how I feel about this. I just wanted to see what the general opinion is of the length of grind TAs are.

Conquest, vs CPU, events, I generally always have a lineup set up to help out with TA innings. I also play a decent amount.

I’m still not even close on a lot of these TAs. I have 8 FOTF and a couple more that are close but to get that extra 20 points to max it out and start stage 2 is a showdown run by itself. I know they aren’t meant for them ALL to be completed. But It’s basically spend hours on end playing showdown, (mindlessly) playing vs CPU, or you’re not going to be close.

I kind of like it because some of these rewards are going to be pretty rare near the end. But you better hope a card on a team you’re behind on doesn’t get a reward you really want. By the time stage 4 comes around, if you haven’t put in a ton of time into a specific team you’re going to have weeks of grinding to catch up.

What are your guys’ opinion? Right now I don’t think it’s much of an issue, but think about when stage 3 and 4 roll around. Maybe things will even out since stage 2 is 20 points shorter.

Stage 1 is 70 points and was around for a little over a month. Stage 2 is 50 additional points and will probably be 3 months before we see the Stage 3. Plenty of time to get a lot done before the next stage. Don't let how some people blast through these in a few days get you to feel like you have to do that as well. If you concentrate on enjoying the game, these rewards will come by quicker than worrying about catching up to people.

Most people are just rushing to get them because of their ratings, come July you probably wont see a single one of these cards unless you run into a no money squad or someone who likes to use a variety of squads/players, like myself. I am personally rushing the Braves affinity 1) I need a pitcher 2) I am a fan of the Braves.

I find it fun, I only have 10 FOTF players and only one future stars guy so far, but it gives me something to do if I don't feel like playing online. I still feel like I'm accomplishing something

The TA grind has a skill gap in how big of a grind it is. If you are a good player and can dominate showdown, than they are probably too short. If you are like me at best average and struggle with Showdown, they are very long. I have 15 FotF. Which isnt bad, but I also have like 420 total hours played. 60 in MTO. I have to seriously get better at Showdown. But I have actually gotten worse at Veteran. I am this close to switching to directional full time.

I think Kyle Wright will play better than Gaterol to be honest, that pitch clutch makes up for any outlier perk.

Yeah, Wright has 88 and Graterol has 95.

Both should be very good for quite a while.

I know Graterol has the outlier quirk, which I am sure will play up in HOF levels, I just question his stamina, 88 I think? and not certain about his pitch selection. It may be better than I remember but I have been combing through all the team affinities so memory is kinda scattered.

Stamina doesn't matter when you can just bring in Kluber or whoever to piggyback.

Me too one because I’m a Braves fanatic. And the dodger because my Achilles heel in RS is my pitching

I think Kyle Wright will play better than Gaterol to be honest, that pitch clutch makes up for any outlier perk.

Graterol has higher pitch clutch though

Does he?, sorry couldn't remember. Well then, I am sure he will play well. For me personally, I am going with Wright.

This is true, but I don't personally do that unless I am in extra innings, so I guess you can consider that a personal preference when considering SP's.

I’m content on grinding now w the flaws in RS..once RS is patched over I’ll put the time in there and save time on these side grinds..

No rush to reach your max potential until your thoroughly enjoy the game.. The way I see it

@genopolanco i wanna go into stage 3 w about 2000 outta 3600 total points.. that’s more then half. If I’m at 800 points now that’s about 20 points a day if summer is 2 months away (60days) summer might be released later then 6/25

Currently have the rays, Yankees, angels, marlins, and Indians all the way maxed out. And every other team at the beginning of stage 2

It’s a bit frustrating at the moment but I’m with you on these rewards being a bit more rare and I’m hoping the lineup diversity finally takes shape near the end of the game as opposed to now.

The Future stats being rated so high will actually be a good thing once them being the best cards pass. They aren’t going to go backwards with ratings in TA so summer and fall should be 95+ and ups. The jays who have terrible rewards so far, could very easily end with SS Alomar and MVP Donaldson. If you didn’t grind the first 120 points you might just pass and go with players your closer to or are a bigger fan of.

I’ve just made sure if I’m doing the first 120 points, the team has some players I’ll be happy with at the end. And if the teams rewards are currently bad, I’m only doing them if the final two rewards are most likely going to be some of my favourite players. Nats, Braves, Indians, and again skipping ones I won’t want... like the Cards or Dodgers even though the current rewards are amazing.

The way I have been doing the affinities is I do the team collection, then I play MTO on vet. That usually gets me to 62 points. Then I do the mission for that team, whatever it is. 20 hits with infielders, 40 innings pitched or whatever and that teams moment gets me to 70 points. The 9 packs I get I sell off everything plus the 6k stubs usually gets me close to another collection. Rinse and repeat for another team.

Stage 2 will be showdowns but you could do another mto on vet and finish it but that would be a long time.

That’s a very good point. I didn’t think about how long it will be until we get Stage 3.

I really like the fact that the stage 3 and 4 cards will be rare. I hate using “meta” or players everyone has. So it will be great for me in that aspect.
