Hey guys, so i just finished the Posada All-star game mission and I checked the box scores for the game and I saw that batting 3rd was "Rodriguez 3b".... Now, i don't think they'd drop ARod without anouncing him at the beginning of the year... But what do you guys think are the chances that he gets dropped this year?

They’ll announce hidden players when they need to retain players. Like when the new Madden and other games release.

Interesting. Could be wrong, but I think in 19 Robin Roberts appeared in the Willie Mays moments despite not being in the game, and Brian Roberts appears in an all-star game moment too, despite not being in the game.

Maybe A-rod’s rights have been acquired, whether its this year or next, or maybe it’s just nothing. The names Barry Bonds and Pete Rose appear in the game of you look at the leaderboards, but their rights haven’t been acquired and their likenesses aren’t used.

There were a bunch of guys that appeared in moments last year, but they never made it into the game as a playable card.

I think they can get away with just using the name on a generic generated character model without having the players rights. I could be wrong but I think that is how a game like ootp baseball for computer has basically every single player in baseball history for their classic leagues. You can start a franchise in any year and have all the players of that time period, but they don’t use a picture and don’t make a character model that looks like the actual player. I think that’s how SDS was able to put all those historic names in moments last year that we never got cards for. Everyone was complaining saying they had the rights, why not put them in the game, but I don’t think they had the rights.

There's more than one person named Alex Rodriguez in the world. They can't use the AROD you're thinking of.
